-I was lucky that I went to the website "Bukimed"
I'll start with the most important thing. The most important thing in a huge sea of information is to choose the right "light", "lighthouse", which will point the way to a person who finds himself in this abyss with a limited time and money limit. I was lucky that I went to the website "Bukimed". I was contacted by coordinating physician Ivan Koval, who was very tactful and at the same time confidently leading me forward. I rushed from one clinic to another, from one operator to another, he calmly explained to me all the pros and cons and was support even when I already completely refused his help and tuned in to another operator. Even then, he very tactfully warned about possible pitfalls and continued to be an assistant. As a result, I took his advice and did not regret it. Hi Medical is very sympathetic to customers, helps with everything, tries to reduce customer costs, where possible. Organizes as quickly as possible consultations and time-examination. Special thanks to Victoria, who spins like a squirrel in a wheel to keep everything in order, always in touch and will not rest until the matter is brought to an end. My treatment is not yet complete, but I'm glad that I got into such a nice team, which brightens up, as much as possible, a person's life one-to-one with his illness. Thank you and for a healthy sense of humor, it also helps to overcome illness!))) And, still. Ivan was in touch with me throughout his stay in Israel. He was convinced that I flew, I was met and I was engaged. He made sure that I get everything that was promised. And after my return home, too, remains in touch, helping in my next steps. Thanks for the help!

We are very grateful for the small chance that these doctors gave us
We received a detailed consultation with Dr. Pelles Sharon and her assistant Denis. They explained everything, gave me a treatment plan, and the doctor was very attentive to details. We are very grateful for the small chance that these doctors gave us. I would also like to note the work of the coordinator, Yulia. A very sensitive, empathetic specialist, she was able to organize everything quickly. Thanks a lot!

Everybody in the Bookimed team and the clinic were nice, responsive and helpful, they provided all needed info about the desiease and treatment, answered all quuestions. Bookimed also organized the hotel, taxi and appartment for my parents, so we all felt calm and supported during their visit.

Overall very satisfied with the service
The whole process was good. Our case was handled well and effectively. We had a slight issue of the confirmation date but this was resolved very quickly. We are not proceeding at the moment with treatment however we may consider getting in touch once we have more test results (biopsy). Overall very satisfied with the service

I recommend
The staff is great. At the moment, we are waiting for the results of the tests, since the wrong diagnosis was made in Ukraine. In Ukraine, sarcoma was treated for 7 months and it is gone. We are not saying that there is no oncology, but the fact that there is no sarcoma is already pleasing. Received very nicely and politely. The coordinators are Russian-speaking. Every day they keep track of all matters. Those who passed the tests were not left alone for a single minute. Currently, we are waiting for a meeting with an oncologist and a radiologist. I recommend

Thank you very much
Hello, I had 2 melanomas detected, they cut me out, then I found this clinic on the Internet, I applied because I had an ultrasound of the lymph nodes in my groin and under my arm. They met me at the clinic, took me to Dr. Bernstein’s office, and the ultrasound showed good results, thank you very much, good service, I am satisfied.

"He is extremely impressed with the quality of medical care, the attention of professors Daniel Shuval, Alan Bloom, Ayal Hubert and their colleagues
Hello! My husband was treated at the University Hospital Hadassah. He has liver cancer. He is extremely impressed with the quality of medical care, the attention of professors Daniel Shuval, Alan Bloom, Ayal Hubert and their colleagues. He is grateful for the care of him. We had the opportunity to choose treatment in 5 leading hospitals in the world. And we are glad that by choosing HADASS we made the best and the right choice. Because this hospital has world-class medical care. But this would not have happened if it had not been for the wonderful organization and work of the specialists from the International Department who have been helping us all the time. With all my heart I thank everyone who helped and continues to help Pavel Kalchev in his fight against cancer. I wish all HADASS specialists health. Health for their families. Assuta Hospital is the largest clinic of private ownership in Israel. It develops a lot of medical directions and is highly specialized in surgery, IVF, cardiology (the use of VenaSeal, Cryo and MICRA and other innovative techniques) and oncology. The main distinguishing feature of this medical institution is a high level of attentiveness to the patient’s needs. The option of a surgical operation, an attending physician and a type of the room is not the complete list of things left up to the choice of the patient.

FAQ about Mastectomy in Israel

Mastectomy is a radical treatment for breast cancer.

Unlike lumpectomy (tumor removal), mastectomy involves resection of the entire breast.

Indications for total breast removal:

  • a malignant tumor in the breast is large,
  • the tumor cannot be removed from one incision, since there are several foci.

Also, during a mastectomy, regional (axillary) lymph nodes are removed.

Types of mastectomy

  • according to Halsted (removal of pectoralis major and minor muscles and axillary tissue);
  • according to Urban (removal of pectoralis major and minor muscles, axillary tissue and lymph nodes);
  • according to Patty (removal of the mammary gland and pectoralis minor muscle);
  • according to Madden (removal of the gland with preservation of the pectoral muscles).

Benefits of mastectomy:

Disadvantages of breast removal

  • breast loss;
  • longer recovery period after surgery.

Side effects of mastectomy

  • side effects of general anesthesia (dizziness, headache, confusion, nausea, etc.);
  • bleeding;
  • infection;
  • lymphedema.

Lymphedema is swelling of the extremities caused by stagnation of lymph after removal of the lymph node.

Edema can develop immediately after surgery, and after a fairly long time.

Lymph stasis is characterized by:

  • swelling of the limbs, a feeling of heaviness in them:
  • decreased flexibility in the arms and legs;

If you see signs of lymphedema, be sure to tell your doctor about them.
