The liver resection surgery at Asklepios is carried out in the Visceral Surgery Department.
All types of partial hepatectomies are performed here: resection of the affected liver lobe or segment. A surgeon uses laparoscopic access (through up to 2 cm incisions in the peritoneum) or open surgical intervention.
The duration of the operation depends on the chosen technique. On average, it takes from 3 to 7 hours. The length of stay in the Clinic is up to 10 days.
