Laser eye surgery

EuroEyes doctors eliminate vision defects to make a patient see without glasses and lenses. Ophthalmologists specialize in the treatment of hyperopia, myopia, astigmatism (changing of the lens or cornea shape), and presbyopia.

After an eye examination, a doctor determines which method will most effectively and safely help a patient improve vision.

ReLEx Smile — an innovative method of vision correction

ReLEx smile is a minimally invasive laser eye correction that allows you to improve vision up to 10 diopters. Laser affects an eye through a micro-incision up to 2 mm and does not require removal of the corneal layer. That's why the eye recovers faster than after other correction methods.

ReLEx Smile is suitable for patients with a high degree of myopia and astigmatism, as well as for patients with dry eye syndrome. The duration of the procedure takes only 32 seconds for 1 eye.

Femto-LASIK — the gold standard of vision correction

Doctors have been performing the Femto-LASIK eye correction for over 10 years. Ophthalmologists remove the upper corneal layer to treat the required part of the eye with a laser.

Femto-LASIK is an advanced type of LASIK technology. The main difference between these 2 techniques is the method of corneal incision. Conducting the LASIK eye surgery, ophthalmologists use a scalpel and they make an incision with a laser during the Femto-LASIK surgery. So the removed flap is smoother and the eye heals faster.

Intraocular lens implantation

There are 2 types of intraocular lenses implantation — replacement of the natural lens with an artificial one (multifocal or trifocal lenses) and the implantation of an artificial lens over the natural lens (phakic ICL).

Trifocal / Multifocal Lens

These are the artificial lenses with multiple focus points that allow you to see at different distances.

Trifocal lenses are implanted for life. They are not visible. Such lenses allow you to get rid of myopia, hyperopia, cataracts, and astigmatism.

ICL lenses

Ophthalmologists place a contact lens ICL between their own lens and the iris. It is completely transparent.

The ICL contact lens allows patients with a high degree of myopia  and hyperopia (from +3 diopters) to see well.

ICL Surgery at EuroEyes Düsseldorf I had an ICL surgery at EuroEyes in Düsseldorf at the end of June 2025. TLDR: good experience, 100% vision, would recommend. Long story, for those who might be (understandably!) anxious about such a scary procedure: The surgery was preceded by some consultations and an in-depth (3 or so hours long) examination. I've asked a million questions and was thoroughly briefed on risks and benefits. Special thanks to the staff for effortlessly switching to English for me, as I definitely do not speak enough German for such a complicated conversation. The surgery itself was very quick (I believe the estimate given was 7-ish minutes per eye, but it felt much faster), totally painless, and absolutely not scary, even though I expected it to be. I've watched the bright light float straight in front of me for a little while, and that was basically my entire experience. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout, and the surgeon calmly talked me through the procedure, giving me something to focus on as I laid there. I was sent home maybe twenty minutes after. The clinic provided me with very dark sunglasses, which were very much needed on a sunny day in June. The first evening was extremely blurry (I saw as if through murky water), and my eyes felt a little raw. Strong light sensitivity lingered for maybe 3-4 days. I didn't really have any pain, overly dry eyes, or any other discomfort past the first evening. I was prescribed some anti-inflammatory eye drops and some moisturizing ones to administer daily for two weeks. I was also given eye shields to sleep in for the first few days, and detailed instructions on recovery do's and don't's. My vision started improving in a day or two. I went to a few control examinations, the first being the morning after, the last a month after. In a week my vision was 100% on both eyes. It's been two and a half months now, and so far I am very happy with the results. I've been wearing glasses since I was 13 or so, and I am now 30. No longer needing them feels amazing! All the little annoyances — like being unable to watch a movie while lying on my side, because my glasses would cut into the side of my head; or having the glasses fog over when entering a building; or forgetting the glasses at home and having to rush back mid-commute — are now gone. I can confidently say my quality of life improved quite a bit. I do see thin halos around some very bright lights, but they are hardly distracting or detrimental. So, yeah. I'd definitely recommend the procedure, and this place.

SIMPLY THE BEST - EASY 5 STARS EURO EYES REVIEW My EuroEyes journey began around November/December 2015, and in January 2016 I had both eyes operated on in Hamburg, Germany, by the CEO and owner, Dr. Jørn Jørgensen. I was fitted with multifocal lenses, and the procedure was a complete success. Recently, I visited EuroEyes’ new flagship premises in Knightsbridge, London. The clinic is extremely impressive – modern, high-tech, and offering superb service. Nearly 10 years on, my eyesight remains excellent, both near and far. At 75 years old, that is something I’m truly grateful for. To my amazement, Dr. Jørgensen himself was in London that day. It was a real pleasure to meet him again and personally thank him for giving me such excellent vision. Would I recommend EuroEyes? Absolutely – 100%. For professionalism, expertise, and aftercare, they are simply the best. Thank you, EuroEyes!

100% recommendation! I’m very satisfied with the service and can highly recommend this practice. The pre-examinations were carried out quickly and in detail. During the procedure, I felt I was in good hands—the doctor did an excellent job. A special thanks to the entire team at the reception and in measurements, who explained everything and put my doubts to rest. Follow-up examinations are also handled very professionally by the team. If you want to get rid of your glasses, you’re in very good hands here.

ICL implant I had an ICL implant fitted at EuroEyes Bremen—and I’m absolutely thrilled! From the first consultation to the aftercare, I felt looked after and cared for every step of the way. The entire team was extremely friendly, professional, and compassionate. I was thoroughly informed, and all my questions were answered patiently—here, you can immediately tell that they work with a great deal of experience and humanity. The surgery itself went quickly, absolutely smoothly, and completely without any pain. Even shortly afterwards, I noticed a clear improvement in my vision. The healing process was also surprisingly pleasant—and was optimally supported by the clinic’s attentive care. I’d especially like to highlight the warm, caring atmosphere throughout the whole building—you’re not just treated as a patient, but as a person with individual needs. This combination of high-tech medicine, efficiency, and warmth is truly exceptional. I can wholeheartedly recommend EuroEyes Bremen—for me, it was one of the best decisions of my life.

EuroEyes Dresden/Leipzig I’ve been wearing contact lenses for decades and then presbyopia set in. Now I had the choice between expensive multifocal lenses or glasses. I’m not a fan of glasses. They’re always dirty; when it rains you get water stains; when you come in from the cold they fog up; they get in the way… In short, I wanted a different solution. Laser treatment wasn’t an option for me because I’m short-sighted, and presbyopia results in long-sightedness. So I went to Dresden for advice on trifocal lenses. Of course, the price was a shock. You think about something like that twice. But the level of suffering/pain was high enough, so I made the second appointment for the extensive pre-checks and then the surgery appointment. Unfortunately, the operation takes place in Leipzig, since Dresden is set up only for pre- and follow-up examinations. But the hotel overnight stay between the surgery day and the first follow-up is included in the price. The costs for travel to and from come on top, of course. Before the procedure, I was naturally extremely nervous. But the staff in Leipzig (just like in Dresden) is also super kind and does everything they can to take the edge off your tension. The surgery itself is quick and painless. Right after, your vision is slightly blurred, but already clearly better. Now, four months after the procedure—after the appointment to laser the so-called after-cataract (Nachstar) and several control appointments—I can say that I don’t regret my decision. In the distance there’s still a little bit missing to be 100%, but even that doesn’t bother me at all, because I have never seen better. I’ve truly gained a lot of quality of life. I’m genuinely happy every day that I no longer have to take my lenses out in the evening and search for my glasses. And the Dresden and Leipzig teams really do a great job—compared to those in other cities—when you read the reviews. I hope everything stays great and that no complications arise after all.
