The Hospital was found in 1870 by German industrial magnate Alfred Krupp to provide medical assistance to the workers at his plants. In 20 years the Clinic started to receive other patients. Special attention was paid to the equipment of the Clinic. Alfried Krankenhaus was one of the first in the world were X-ray device was established.
Modern building of the Hospital was built in 1980. Now it is a research and teaching center for the students of the University of Duisburg-Essen. The Hospital is financed by charity fund of the Krupps ensuring the high-quality medical assistance, devotion to the family values and observance of traditions of German healthcare.

The specializing center has received patients since 2004. The Center is certified by German Cancer Society and the German Society for Senology, and DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Standards of medical assistance. These make sure doctors provide the best available international experience for

The specialists in Neurology, Neurophysiology, Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology provide complex diagnostic and minimally-invasive treatment for numerous disease, incl. stroke, multiple sclerosis, Moyamoya syndrome, aneurysms and angiomas, Parkinson's disease, arterio-venous malformations and others.

Rehabilitation is one of the key specialties at Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus. Doctors are specialized in cancer, neurological and physiotherapeutic rehabilitations.
Treatment of foreign patients
Doctors at Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus examine each case individually, providing a patient with a personal treatment plan.
Foreign patients live in 1 or 2-bed wards with bathroom. The accompanying person can stay in the same ward or in a hotel near the Hospital.
