My family and I travelled from Ireland in December for brain surgery as I had suffered for 14 years with epilepsy as a result of a cavernoma. I had been to many doctors and hospitals in Ireland for many years looking to have this surgery as it caused me huge problems throughout my life, I could no longer play sports, go out and socialise with friends and do everyday activities without having minor or big seizures. It affected me terribly last year when it occured on a daily basis.
I was lucky enough to speak to Dr Ralf Buhl by chance over a phone call and from the first second, I felt reassured and for the first time ever I felt like this could be rectified through surgery. He spoke with myself and my family and was able to advise he could operate within weeks. We arrived at Solingen, we met face to face and he sat and talked with my family and I for as long as we needed to ask questions and feel comfortable. Within two days of arrival, I had my surgery. I arrived expecting to be home in one to two months with a long journey to recovery, but such is the quality of Dr Buhl and his incredible team, I was home in Ireland only one week later, walking, talking and once again able to enjoy life in peace for the first time in many years.
From the day I arrived, to the day I left, Dr Buhl checked in with me personally, and my family to check on my well-being both physically and mentally, always giving advice and answering questions.
I would recommend Dr Ralf Buhl and his team to anyone, my close family and friends or strangers alike, who suffers with cavernoma issues or anything similar to this. Where I saw no way of being helped in my own country and elsewhere in 14 years, Dr Buhl took only days.
I can't recommend nor thank this man enough, thank you for changing my life, and my family's lives forever.
