Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov): Patients Reviews and Experience

My biggest fear before this trip was facing the unknown of a brain cancer diagnosis while navigating a complex medical system in another country. I was worried about logistics and the quality of care. However, the process was smoother than I had anticipated. The support I received made a significant difference. My Bookimed coordinator was always eager to help, which eased a lot of the logistical stress that comes with arranging everything from afar. The surgeon was exceptional, and I felt a sense of confidence in their approach. When I think about what could have been better, honestly, nothing comes to mind. I am now in the early stages of recovery, and looking back, I feel the decision to seek treatment here was the correct one for me. The entire journey was handled with professionalism.

Good day! I visited this medical center only twice for blood tests, waiting for 1 hour the first time and 30 minutes the second time, despite being the only patient. All other actions, including a doctor's consultation, took place elsewhere, so based on the above, it's difficult for me to give a different assessment. Regarding the doctor, I was assigned a different doctor than initially stated. I have no information about the current attending physician, so I request that data be provided if possible. The doctor's conclusion, by the way, was not on Ichilov letterhead but on a regular sheet of paper, and it contained different prescriptions than those eventually given. There were no explanations from the doctor regarding the side effects of the medications (and I traveled there because your specialist stated that the medication was used without side effects, which was key for me), which were ultimately prescribed and contain quite strong side effects.

What I appreciated the most was the support from coordinator Sergey and the clinic's representative, Denis. They assisted me with different questions and situations. They created an easy, pleasant, and friendly atmosphere. After the surgery, Denis helped purchase the necessary medications and always organized my transport from the clinic to home. He also assisted with currency exchange locations. I am very satisfied with the outcome of the surgery; it is the best possible result that could have been achieved. We received a detailed consultation with Dr. Pelles Sharon and her assistant Denis. They explained everything, gave me a treatment plan, and the doctor was very attentive to details. We are very grateful for the small chance that these doctors gave us. I would also like to note the work of the coordinator, Yulia. Service at the highest level. The doctor took exactly at the appointed time and spent about an hour. The problem was studied comprehensively and, as a result, logical recommendations were received and the doctor prescribed treatment. The staff is great. At the moment, we are waiting for the results of the tests, since the wrong diagnosis was made in Ukraine. In Ukraine, sarcoma was treated for 7 months and it is gone. We are not saying that there is no oncology, but the fact that there is no sarcoma is already pleasing. Received very nicely and politely. The coordinators are Russian-speaking. Every day they keep track of all matters. Those who passed the tests were not left alone for a single minute. Currently, we are waiting for a meeting with an oncologist and a radiologist. My assessment of the clinic was only because I did not stay there, only about 20 minutes for an OSTA examination. I was expecting a full examination because I was invited to the Ichilov-Surasky clinic, but was only in two private clinics for consultations. I chose the Vital hotel exclusively because of Considerations to be close to the clinic. Thank you very much Bookimed for choosing a clinic for us for 3 months and keeping in touch with us throughout the time that we were there, but their partners who deal with us upon arrival in the country are negligent about worn and not fully perform their obyazonnosti.Im want to advise humanity, we (people with health) eat with the hope of recovery! There were only positive aspects in working with Bookimed, I was absolutely happy with everything, I was just glad how everything was clear and understandable, but I did not understand some points in working with the clinic. The impression was that for the clinic the result is not so important as making money. I’m not a doctor, but I understand that you can’t take codle tests. A person ate, if a person comes with stomach problems, this is minimal. In fact, we passed tests for $ 750 but did not understand whether we have problems with sugar or not. In Ukraine, they again tested.

The medical trip didn't go well. I didn't get what I expected or wanted at all. It was a waste of a trip.
