☆ This review was written in English, so I hope it translates correctly into Korean.
☆I'm a Korean-American resident of Guam, and in the fall of 2023, I had taken my sick elderly father with respiratory and cardiac problems (COVID-19, pneumonia, etc) to Sejong general hospital (Gyeyang-gu, Incheon). I didn't want to comment or write a review before, because I did NOT want to "relive"/feel the bad experiences I had with this hospital again. However, yesterday (03/21/2024), I noticed an entire full-page ad in a Korean community newspaper on Guam promoting this hospital. My heart "sank" and ached at the thought of this hospital targeting other ill-informed Koreans living here on Guam into becoming their potential new patients/customers ($$$₩₩)!!
As a Christian and former U.S. RN (registered nurse), I believe I must give an honest review of my own experience at this hospital to help inform or warn others NOT to be awed or fooled by this shiny, nice-looking hospital. Please do not read only the good reviews that post and highlight the hospital's building design, but also read other reviews to understand why people have given this hospital a lower rating. This hospital can perform multiple diagnostic tests (e.g. CT, MRI/A), as do so many other hospitals in Korea. However, Sejong general hospital will LATER REFER or TRANSFER some of these patients (just like my own father) to get more advanced, higher level of care & treatment at LARGER UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS (e.g. Inha/Seoul/Yonsei Univ. Hospital), "AFTER" they've charged my father and other patients for all those EXPENSIVE diagnostic tests and hospitalization!! Why? Because Sejong general hospital is a BUSINESS that WANTS YOUR MONEY $$$₩₩ and is a "SECONDARY" (MEDIUM-size) hospital that CAN'T provide some of the more advanced and specialized treatments, surgeries, and nursing care that "TERTIARY" (LARGE-size) UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS (e.g. Inha/Seoul/Yonsei Univ. Hospital) CAN provide to their patients! And when some of these patients do transfer to the LARGER UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS to get better, higher level of care, they have to PAY AGAIN (!!!) for some of those same expensive diagnostic tests that were done at Sejong general hospital but were NOT TREATED at Sejong general hospital! So, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do your research and save your hard-earned money to be put to use at a better hospital than this one. If writing this review here can help someone be better informed or warned about this hospital, then Thank you, Lord Jesus!
☆ As a former U.S. nurse, I sincerely regret not reporting some of their poor healthcare practices that I personally witnessed at this hospital's Pulmonary Med-Surg Unit to JCI, Korea's hospital accreditation organization:
• After cleaning some of the patients, nursing assistants, who were still wearing feces-stained gloves, touched the patients' bedside items/bed siderails and did not clean those dirty items afterwards.
• Nurse who worked as an RN at this pulmonary med-surg unit for about 5 years (according to the charge nurse) did NOT suction my dad's tracheostomy using STERILE technique nor did she correctly check my dad's NG-tube residuals prior to medication/tube feed administration.
• Many Foley/urine bags were literally touching or sitting on the dirty floor.
• Staff were not sanitizing my dad's (C.Diff+ with frequent diarrhea incontinence) room with bleach solution until days after when I had brought it up to the nurse and nurse assistant's attention.
• An AMBU bag and extra tracheostomy tube (with an obturator) were never placed at my dad's bedside in the pulmonary med-surg unit at Sejong general hospital. But at Inha Univ Hospital's pulmonary med-surg unit, those items were ALWAYS present at my dad's bedside for possible tracheostomy/respiratory emergency...

I made an appointment for a consultation and came here, but I waited for 3 hours. I'm sure they should call me if there's a backlog, but they won't mention my name, but seriously, that's not happening. I really feel like I'm going to get cursed at. I don't even know why I have to give them a star rating. It's annoying, so don't come here. Of course, it's a waste of money to come here, and even if the doctor said he'd pay, I won't go to this hospital again. I don't know if the doctor who works for money is crazy about money or just lazy, but it's really annoying. Can I even see the doctor? This is too much. I've been in the hospital for hours, my head hurts so much I feel like I'm going to die. I feel like I'm going to faint.

First visit.
The hospital seems relatively new and clean.
The staff are friendly.
However, the waiting time was a bit long because the first-time patient registration area wasn't very crowded.
The parking lot was located above ground and in the tower, which was convenient.
The layout seemed a bit different from other hospitals, which seemed unique.
Since I'm transferring to a new hospital, I'll need to undergo various tests over the next few weeks, but I hope everything goes smoothly.
