Dr. Josef Grohs is an experienced orthopedist who specializes in spine surgery. He has over 30 years of clinical practice. Dr. Grohs earned his medical degree from the University of Vienna. He also holds diplomas in Clinical Investigation and Manual Medicine. He received his specialist diploma in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1998 and completed his habilitation in 2006.
Dr. Grohs has served as Deputy Chief of the Spine Unit at the Medical University of Vienna. He has chaired AO-Spine Austria since 2015. From 2009 to 2011, he was President of the Austrian Spine Society. Dr. Grohs has performed surgeries in several countries, including Ghana and Kenya. He is known for his work in orthopedic education and research. He is active in both European and Austrian spine societies.
Dr. Alexander M. Rokitansky is a pediatric and adolescent surgeon and a pioneer of minimally invasive correction of pectus excavatum. He oversaw the creation of the pediatric surgery department at University Hospital Vienna from 1992 to 1994. He then led Pediatric and Adolescent Surgery at Klinik Donaustadt for 27 years, from 1994 to 2021. He chaired the Society for Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care. He also led the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Pediatric Surgery and served as President of the Austrian Pediatric Surgery Society.
He earned his doctorate at the University of Vienna in 1982. He has been Professor of Pediatric and Adolescent Surgery at SFU Vienna since 2017. He has been Chief Surgeon at Vienna Private Clinic since 2021. Honors include an honorary doctorate from Carol Davila University (2012), honorary membership of the Austrian Society of Pediatric Surgery (2023), and the Golden Badge of Honor of the City of Vienna (2023).
