The liver resection surgery at Teknon is carried out by doctors of the General and Abdominal Surgery Department. They perform laparoscopic (through several incisions up to 2 cm) and open operations to remove different parts of the organ.
The duration of the surgical procedure is 3-7 hours. When it is over, a patient is in the Intensive Care Unit for up to 2 days. If there are no complications, a patient is placed to a regular ward for 7-10 days.
The cost of liver resection includes surgical intervention and hospital-stay during the postoperative period.
