The irradiation of brain tumors with CyberKnife is conducted in Sourasky Radiotherapy Institute. The procedure is performed by an onco-radiologist.
CyberKnife M6 Series produced by Accuray American company is used. It influences the brain tumor with high radiation dose. While CyberKnife treatment for brain tumor a patient is not fixated. It is adopted to tumor location and person’s breathing.
The procedure is conducted without anesthesia because it is painless. A patient takes sedative drugs.
The therapy is performed on the outpatient basis. The duration of CyberKnife cycle is 30 minutes-4 hours. A patient can return home after irradiation. In most cases, 1 cycle is enough.
