A graduate of the Medical University of Warsaw, a specialist in urology with the FEBU (Fellow of the European Board of Urology) certificate. He completed his specialization training at the Urology Clinic of the Postgraduate Medical Center in Warsaw, which he completed in 2012. Previously, he completed a surgical training internship at the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw. Member of the Polish Society of Urology and the European Society of Urology. Co-founder of the Urology Department at St. Anna in Piaseczno and the Stone Treatment Center and the Advanced Urology Center in Piaseczno. Dr. Zugaj was particularly interested in minimally and micro-invasive techniques in urology and the use of a laser in surgical treatment. He shares his extensive knowledge and skills in the field of endourology with other doctors and medical students - he is a lecturer on courses in the field of flexible ureteroscopy, RIRS procedures and prostate enucleation with a holmium laser, i.e. HoLEP procedures. It also gives lectures and presentations as part of the annual congresses of the Polish Society of Urology and as a reference center for courses by Olympus and Cook Medical for doctors from Central and Eastern Europe. Dr. Zugaj is one of the first doctors in Europe who started performing robotic surgery of kidney stones. He is a pioneer and promoter in Poland of holmium prostatic enucleation (HoLEP) in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, removal of bladder tumors entirely using a holmium laser (HoLERBT) and urolithiasis surgery by kidney puncture in the supine position (supine PCNL). He has extensive experience in endoscopic treatment of urolithiasis and endoscopic treatment of tumors of the upper urinary tract. He is the author and co-author of publications presented and awarded at scientific congresses of the Polish Society of Urology. Dr. Zugaj has completed internships and specialization trainings, e.g. in Orebro, Hamburg, Leipzig (Germany), Milan (Italy).
