I cannot recommend Jean more highly
RE: bridge and implants My dental experience for years in the United States just cannot compare. Genna, Alma, Roberto & Alec together form such an effective and responsive team. I felt that I was an excellent hands the entire time, I felt nurtured. These good people were willing to take a lot of time with me. they were willing to answer all of my questions. Even when we were in process, they were willing to take time to make sure that I would be satisfied with our decisions. I spent a fraction of the money that I would’ve spent all my expenses. They are complete and total professionals with modern technology and a true care for their patients. I cannot recommend Jean more highly.
Everything. I’ll add here that the office is a three minute walk from the hotel.
Don’t trust or rely on Hilton’s shuttle service.

Our Dental bridge installation Techniques: What Suits You Best?

When considering Dental bridge installation, it’s important to understand the different techniques and which is best suited for you. Here’s a concise comparison of popular options:

Maryland Bridge Installation

This procedure involves the placement of a dental prosthetic that replaces missing teeth using a metal framework bonded to the back of adjacent teeth.

Pros: Conserves tooth structure with minimal reduction of abutment teeth. Quick and minimally invasive, with success rates around 95% for anterior teeth.
Cons: Less suitable for high-biting force areas like molars. May debond over time, especially in patients with heavy bite forces.
Effectiveness: Success rate of 80-95% over 5-10 years.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: Not needed
Best for: Replacing anterior teeth, especially incisors, with minimal tooth preparation.
Prices: Cost of Maryland bridge installation in Mexico from $960

Dental Bridge for Molars

Dental bridgework involves replacing missing molars with artificial teeth supported by adjacent teeth.

Pros: Durable and robust, dental bridgework can last 10-15 years with proper care. Unlike Maryland bridge installation, which relies on resin, this option is stronger for molars.
Cons: Requires reduction of abutment teeth, unlike zirconia dental bridge that preserves more tooth structure.
Effectiveness: Success rate is over 90% for molar replacement.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: 7-10 days
Best for: Replacing up to 3 consecutive missing molars. Ideal for maintaining bite alignment and oral health.
Prices: Cost of Dental bridge for molars in Mexico from $1,500

Metal Dental Bridge

A metal dental bridge is a fixed dental prosthetic used to replace missing teeth by anchoring to adjacent teeth or implants.

Pros: Highly durable, withstanding strong biting forces, making it ideal for molars. Less likely to chip compared to porcelain bridges.
Cons: Metal can be visible, affecting aesthetics, especially for front teeth. Potential for allergic reactions in sensitive patients.
Effectiveness: Success rate of 95% over 10 years.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: 2-3 days
Best for: Replacing molars, restoring bite alignment, and enhancing chewing efficiency.

Porcelain Bridge

A porcelain bridge is a dental restoration that replaces missing teeth using porcelain crowns attached to adjacent teeth.

Pros: Natural appearance with up to 95% color matching. Stronger than Maryland bridges, providing better support for chewing.
Cons: Requires removal of more tooth structure compared to Maryland bridges. May not be as durable as zirconia or metal bridges.
Effectiveness: 85-90% success rate over 10 years.
Duration: 2-3 hours
Recovery: 1-2 weeks
Best for: Single or multiple tooth replacement in visible areas, improving bite alignment and oral aesthetics.
Prices: Cost of Porcelain bridge in Mexico from $350

Zirconia Dental Bridge

It is a dental prosthetic made from zirconia used for replacing missing teeth.

Pros: High strength and durability with a fracture rate of less than 1%. Non-metallic, making it biocompatible and aesthetically pleasing. Unlike metal bridges, this option offers a natural tooth appearance.
Cons: Requires more tooth reduction compared to Maryland bridge installation. Limited translucency compared to porcelain bridge.
Effectiveness: Success rate of over 95% in clinical trials.
Duration: 1-2 hours
Recovery: Not needed
Best for: Replacing 1-3 missing teeth. Ideal for strong bite areas like molars.
Prices: Cost of Zirconia dental bridge in Mexico from $1,350

FAQ about Dental bridge installation in Mexico

What Are Dental Bridges: Brief Overview

A dental bridge is a construction aiming to fill gaps of one or more teeth, missing or severely damaged. Dental bridges are a complex set gathering artificial teeth. These prosthetics are made of crowns fixed on the front or side teeth. Typically, they are held on a cement basis, so a patient can eat and chew food in a normal way. The last crowns are fixated on a patient's natural teeth, their remnants, or preliminary placed dental implants. The false middle teeth do not have a solid basement but perform a function of absent natural teeth.

Who Is Indicated to Have Dental Bridges?

Teeth bridges are a primary variant for people who experience:

  • absence of 1-3 adjacent teeth in a row
  • impossibility to place implants
  • presence of teeth or their solid remnants where it is possible to attach dental bridges.

However, if you have some of these dental conditions, dental implants may be ineffective. So, in case of any listed issue, consult your dentist about expediency of dental bridge placement:

  • multiple adjacent teeth absence
  • bite defects
  • gum disease.

If you have some doubts regarding whether you have a candidate for dental bridges in Mexico, send us a photo of your teeth and X-ray, so a dentist can estimate remotely if this procedure solves your dental issues.

What Problems Do Dental Bridges Solve?

A dental bridge is an option that clears up such significant problems:

  • proper teeth functioning
  • aesthetic teeth appearance and a patient’s self-esteem.

So, a dental bridge can restore your self-confidence and comfort in everyday life, allowing to eat and chew food normally without feeling discomfort or shyness because of smile imperfections caused by a missing tooth.

Dental Bridge Construction Components

Classical dental bridges consist of such elements:

  • Abutment teeth: A dentist puts a crown on each supporting tooth (or an implant) that will play a role as a basement. They are situated on both sides of teeth gaps.
  • Pontics: It is a single or a set of set teeth that are aimed to fill the gap of missing units.

Prior to a permanent bridge being done, dentists often place a temporary bridge to preserve the aesthetic look of your beautiful smile. It is especially a good option for patients installing a bridge on front teeth.

What Are the Different Types of Dental Bridges?

A customer can opt for one out of 4 major types of dental bridges offered by dental facilities in Mexico:

  • Traditional fixed dental bridge: This prosthetics type is one of the most considerably picked for replacement teeth. It is a construction of 2 or over crowns keeping a bridge in place. They can be made of metal, ceramics, porcelain, and metal.
  • Cantilever bridge: This bridge construction enables the pontic to connect to one abutment tooth or an implant, so no extra basements are required. It is a demanded option for people who have only one tooth that can be used as support for an overall bridge.
  • Maryland bridge (also referred to as a resin-bonded bridge): It is a typical replacement for one missing tooth. Maryland bridge represents a construction of one crown with 2 “wings” on each side. These wings are attached to neighboring remaining teeth, so a gap becomes filled.
  • Implant-supported bridge: Its principle of functioning is similar to traditional bridges, but instead of existing teeth, implants are used.

How Much Is 2 or 3 Bridges for Teeth in Mexico?

The cost of a dental bridge depends on many factors. Among them are the type of construction and how many teeth will be replaced. According to Mexican dental clinics data, an average cost of 2-3 units of dental bridges is $700-$900. However, you can also get a procedure done for $350 and even up to $1,200.

If you want to receive an accurate calculation, submit a request. Then send a photo of your smile, taking a problem area in detail. You may also be asked to provide an X-ray to ensure a doctor receives complete information about your case.

What's Cheaper: a Dental Bridge or an Implant?

Typically, a dental bridge is about 1.5-2 times cheaper than a dental implant. However, such criteria affect the ultimate price the most:

  • how many teeth need to be replaced with dental implants or a bridge
  • a material made of each construction
  • a procedure complexity.

The average cost of one dental implant in Mexico is $750, while a dental bridge refuctioning 2 or 3 teeth is about $800 on average. Plus, a dental bridge is a non-surgical procedure, and no extended healing process is required, as in a case with implants.

What Is the Average Cost of a Bridge in Your Mouth?

The average cost of a dental bridge with crowns in Mexico is about $500-$700. Traditional dental bridges fall between $600-$900, while Maryland construction can cost 20-40% less because only one tooth can be replaced with the pontic.

What Affects the Cost of a Dental Bridge in Mexico?

The cost of a dental bridge procedure in Mexico falls between $350-$1,350. The gap is big, but let's sort out why the ultimate may change in such an extreme way.

Most common factor influencing price:

  • Dental health: Before each procedure, a dentist must check whether the teeth are healthy. If not, a doctor performs dental treatment to put a dental bridge on the healthy anchor teeth.
  • Type of the dental bridge:Traditional fixed dental bridges typically cost more than a Maryland type. The first one replaces and rebuilds 2+ missing or damaged teeth, while Maryland dental bridge naturally restores only one or more missing teeth. As a result, fewer crowns are needed, so the price for Maryland dental bridges is 20-40% lower.
  • Dental crowns and bridge material: A dentist can use porcelain crowns, metal crowns, and zirconia crowns, depending on a patient's budget and a dental bridge location. Zirconia and porcelain crowns are more expensive than metal ones, but they are solid and look like natural teeth. A gold crown can be also used, but it is considered old-fashioned looking, and natural-looking teeth are a top priority.
  • A dentist experience: It is difficult to imagine that patients would trust their smile and expenses due to insufficient qualified doctors. So, dentists with a long period of practice and positive feedback usually ask more for their dental work, that is influences the total cost for dental bridges in Mexico.

Is It Cheaper to Go to Mexico to Get Dental Bridges?

Mexico is one of the most demanded destinations to fix tooth issues among Americans. Citizens of the USA opt for cheaper dental services due to the high prices in American clinics and the fact that medical insurance does not cover most of them.

So, many customers from the USA prefer fixing their teeth — placing dental implants, bridges, crowns, or veneers — overseas or in neighboring Mexico. Just compare: the cost per dental bridge in the USA starts at $2,000, while the same option will cost $400 in Mexico.

And it is an economy only for the most straightforward option. If a patient is looking for advanced dental bridge solutions, it is possible to save up to $5,000.

Before visiting Mexico for dental bridge options and decide whether you’ll get some benefit of a trip, calculate such expenses:

  • Compare the price of provided dental services in Mexico and the USA. To get an ultimate calculation of the dental bridge cost in Mexico for your case, submit a request on Bookimed. Send photos of your tooth issues to get a personalized free quote directly from a clinic.
  • Calculate the round-trip ticket cost from your city of residence in America to Mexico and back. You must be sure that the total economy is worth traveling to Mexico, and a medical tourism journey will bring you more benefits.

If you need a simple dental bridge with 1 crown it may occur that it will be more profitable to have this procedure in the USA without wasting expenses on travel charges. But when you plan to make over 2+ teeth, it is evident that picking Mexico for this purpose is the best decision.
