Dr. Lecturer. Çağdaş Gökhun Özmerdiven, after completing his pre-undergraduate education, successfully completed his medical education at Trakya University Faculty of Medicine and received the title of Medical Doctor. He completed his specialization at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine and became a Urology specialist.

PhD. Sökmen graduated from Eskişehir Kılıçoğlu High

School in 2002 and studied at Istanbul Cerrahpaşa

University Medical School in the same year,

graduating in 2008.

Later, he specialized in urology at Bakırköy Urology

Clinic of Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research

Hospital was the only clinic in Turkey with European

Accreditation (FEBU) accreditation at the time and

was appointed as Urology Specialist in 2014.

Since becoming a specialist, he has actively

participated in trainings and conferences in the fields

of urological oncology, robotic surgery, renal

transplantation and andrology, and has participated in

numerous surgeries with leading professors from

around the world.

In recent years, he has become particularly interested

in “men’s sexual health and sexual aesthetics” and has

been performing surgeries in this area since 2017.He

continues to perform surgeries and research, including

penile enlargement and regenerative treatments for

erectile dysfunction, penile implant implantation,

chronic prostatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and

chronic pelvic pain syndrome.

PhD. Sökmen has been a member of the European

Association of Urology since 2009. He has also

organized and served as an instructor for many

accredited training courses for the organization.

2021 Ph.D. Sökmen introduces unique andrology

trends in the field of urology with its portfolio of

treatments, patented devices and regenerative

therapies.He is currently conducting scientific research

and patient examinations at the Andro Expertise

Center for Men’s Health and Aesthetics, which was

opened in 2022 with his colleague Dr. Zulfu Sertkaya

with the same vision. He treats patients in his own

clinic and performs surgeries in affiliated hospitals.

Urologist

Accepting patients in the Urology medical unit of Florya Hospital, Prof. Dr. Semih Ayan completed his education at Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine in 1997 and received the title of Urology Specialist. In 1999, he became a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pediatric Urology at Harvard University; He became Associate Professor of Urology in 2003 and Professor of Urology in 2009. In 2015, he completed his Minimal Invasive Urological Oncology (Clinical Fellow) studies at the University of Chicago and crowned his professional education and experience with international studies.

In the field of Urological Oncology, which is one of the physician's areas of interest, surgical treatment of prostate cancer, bladder cancer and kidney tumors provides a significant increase in the survival rate and the chance of surviving cancer. In the field of Pediatric Urology, which is another area of interest, congenital anomalies such as renal outflow stenosis, urinary reflux to the kidney and hypospadias are corrected by using innovative surgical applications and a lifelong contribution is provided to the patients.

Medical equipment required for medical diagnosis, treatment and surgical treatment to be given in the areas specified in our urology units, laparoscopic surgeries and all kinds of equipment suitable for the use of new surgical techniques are available in our hospital. Dr. Ayan graduated from Medical School in 1991 and completed his urology education in 1997. At the beginning of his carrier, he was a post doctorate research fellow at the Department of Urology of Harvard Medical School, Children’s Hospital in Boston (1999-2000). He studied the effect of partial ureteral obstruction to the kidney in early developmental stage in an experimental animal fetus model. This study provided a significant contribution to a complicated issue of pediatric urology and was cited many times by its successors. 

He became associate professor of urology in 2004 and was appointed as a professor of urology in 2009. He was accepted as a clinical fellow in Minimal Invasive Urologic Oncology at the Department of Surgery, Section of Urology at the University of Chicago (2014-2015). He worked in an intense oncology program mainly concentrated on robotic surgery of prostate and kidney cancer. Because of this background, he is mainly interested in urologic oncology and pediatric urology. The primary portion of his daily practice consist of kidney cancer, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, neonatal hydronephrosis, ureteropelvic junction obstruction, urine reflux to kidney, hypospadias and undescended testis. 

Because of its prevalence in Turkey, Prof. Ayan has a huge experience with urinary stone disease and he is doing large number of endoscopic and percutaneous surgeries for kidney, ureter and bladder stones. 

Prof. Ayan holds United States Medical License and European Board of Urology Certificate. He is a member of AUA, EAU and Turkish Urologic Surgery and Urologic Oncology Societies.
