The ghrelin and orexin activity in testicular tissues of patients with idiopathic non-obstructive azoospermia

Prof. Dr. M. İhsan Karaman is a urologic surgeon and professor. He specializes in prostate growth, prostate cancer, urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction, kidney stone disease, male infertility, and pediatric urology. He works as a Consultant Surgeon in pediatric urology. He has served as Chief of the Urology Clinic at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. He was also President of Istanbul Medeniyet University.

Dr. Karaman has published over 300 academic papers. He has edited scientific books on prostate cancer and pediatric urology. His work has been cited internationally more than 1,000 times. He is a founding member of the Turkish Society for Pediatric Urology and the Eurasian Urooncological Association. He serves on the Scientific Programme Council of the Société Internationale d'Urologie. He is accredited by several international medical associations and has organized major medical congresses.

With more than 120 medical publications on stem cells in preeminent medical journals, Professor Yvan Torrente is considered one of the world’s best scientists in regenerative medicine, genetic engineering of stem cells and advanced gene therapies for degenerative diseases. Prof. Torrente is currently the director of the Neurology department of the “Policlinico” Hospital in Milan as well as the head of the cell laboratory for the advanced therapy medical products in Milan.

In addition, Yvan is a professor in neurology at the University of Milan. Prof. Torrente is assisted by a team of highly trained and well-regarded doctors, biologists and researchers in the laboratory in Milan who provide external assistance and consultancy to our medical team. Specifically, over the years, Professor Torrente has helped our team to develop GMP compliant and high-quality safety standards in complex research projects, applying the same to medicinal and clinical products catered for specific uses.

Professor Torrente is currently leading and supervising several clinical trials in Europe on stem cell use in human beings as well as other advanced therapy medical products. He also provides assistance and consultancy services to several other hospitals worldwide, especially in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Finally, Yvan is a well-known speaker at prestigious events, seminars and symposiums worldwide.

Prof. Dr. Fatih Kurtuluş is a leading urologist and a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU). He earned his medical degree from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1997. He specializes in endourology and urooncology. He received advanced training at IRCAD Strasbourg and gained international experience at Heidelberg University and Milan San Raffaele IRCCS Hospital.

He became a professor in 2018. He has received several awards, including the 2015 Urooncology Research Award. He also won best oral presentation at the AUA Congress in 2008 and the EAU Congress in 2009. Dr. Kurtuluş has published widely in international journals. He is an active member of the EAU, Endourological Society, Turkish Association of Urology, and Urooncology Association.
