Ayhan Ozcan, M.D., is a professor of pathology and worked as a faculty member in the Department of Pathology at Gülhane Military Medical Academy, School of Medicine, Ankara (2001-2016) and Yeni Yüzyil University, School of Medicine, Istanbul (2016-2018) in Turkey.
He was appointed to assistant professor in 2001, associate professor in 2006, and professor in 2015 in the Department of Pathology at Gülhane Military Medical Academy, School of Medicine, Ankara.
He specializes in kidney pathology (medical and non-medical). He also served as director of electron microscopy in the Department of Pathology at Gülhane Military Medical Academy, School of Medicine, Ankara.
He graduated from GMMA in 1991 at, where he stayed for pathology residency training for three years. His interests include nephropathology, genitourinary pathology, bone and soft tissue pathology, placental pathology, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy.
He joined as a visiting professor in the Renal Pathology Division, Department of Pathology, Methodist Hospital in Texas for 1 year (2005-2006). After five years, he worked as a visiting scholar (about nephropathology and genitourinary pathology) in the Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, Indiana University for 4 months in 2010. He worked as a visiting scholar in the Renal and Transplant Pathology Laboratory and also as a researcher in Renal Research Laboratory, Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, Ohio State University for 8 months in 2011.
He active scholarly endeavors include section editor and peer-reviewer for scientific journals, and lecturer in national scientific meetings. His H-index is 24. His international and national publications are as follows: 1 book editorial and 3 chapters authorship published in English by an international publishing house, Author of 6 chapters in the textbook published in Turkish by the national publishing house, International 103 articles, National 45 articles, 73 poster and oral presentations presented at international congresses, 105 poster and oral presentations presented at national congresses.
He is a member of Turkish Pathology Association, Ankara Pathology Association, Turkish Cytopathology Association.
