In his next career step, he joined Istanbul Training and Research Hospital as a General Surgery Specialist and worked from 2000 to 2009. He specialized in Endocrine Surgery (Goiter, Surreal, Parathyroid Surgery), Laparoscopic Surgery (Laparoscopic Obesity, Colon Surgery, Stomach Surgery, Hernia Surgery, Appendectomy, Hiatus Hernia, cholecystectomy), Gastrointestinal Surgery (Stomach Cancer and Ulcers, Colon Cancers, Bile duct Surgery) and Endoscopy.
In 2015, He worked with Dr. Bruno Dillemans on Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass in Belgium. In 2017, He worked with Dr. Phillipe Topart ve Dr Guillaume Becouarn on Obesity Surgery and Laparoscopy. He speaks advanced English and intermediate French. Necdet Derici is a member of the Turkish Surgery Association, Turkish Bariatric Surgery Association, Laparoscopic Surgery Association, Endocrine Surgery Association, Asian Endocrine Surgery Association and International Obesity and Bariatric Surgery Association (IFSO).
