Academic Training:
Graduated in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid and specialist in Cardiology at the University Hospital October 12 in Madrid. During her residency, she completed an external rotation in cardiac MRI and CT at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, under the supervision of Dr. Weinsaft.
After the residence, she completed two years of subspecialization focused on Cardiac Imaging, at the October 12 Hopital and at HM Hospitals, under the supervision of Dr. Fernández Friera and Dr. Solís.
Professional Experience:
As a cardiologist, Dr. Belen Diaz Anton has developed her activity in prestigious public and private centers, her area of specialization being cardiac imaging. In this field, she is accredited in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography by the European Society of Cardiology (EACVI) since 2015.
Dr. Belen Diaz Anton is currently part of the Comprehensive Center for Cardiovascular Diseases (CIEC) and the Cardiac Imaging Unit of HM Hospitals. Her activity is focused on performing three-dimensional transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, offering special support to cardiac interventionism and surgery. In addition, she holds specific valve disease consultations. Within the cardiac imaging unit, she performs cardiac resonance and coronary AngioCT.
Scientific and Teaching Activity:
Dr. Belen Diaz Anton collaborates as a teacher at the San Pablo CEU University through specialized courses in cardiac CT.
Outstanding research career with more than 10 articles published in prestigious national and international journals in recent years and multiple communications to congresses.
Since 2016, she has been developing a line of research in Cardio-Oncology in patients with breast cancer (Winning project of the first intramural R+D+i call for emerging groups awarded by the HM Hospitals foundation).
