Additional information
Makoplasty is a method used in the application of knee and hip replacements using robotic surgery technology. This method allows a more accurate and precise operation, thanks to the use of robotic devices during joint prosthesis surgery. The makoplasty method is performed by means of a robotic arm that is connected to a computer. With this method, it is easier to place the prostheses in the correct position. In addition, the makoplasty method can offer many advantages compared to other surgical methods. Makoplasty, which also provides a faster healing process, is one of the methods that individuals and doctors prefer more with the developing technology. Makoplasty surgery should be performed by an experienced and highly skilled surgeon. It requires expertise in robotic-assisted procedures, as well as comprehensive knowledge and experience to ensure a successful outcome. At our clinic, this advanced surgical procedure is carried out by Prof. Dr. Ramazan Erden Ertürer, a leading expert in the field. Prof. Dr. Ertürer has performed over 500 Makoplasty surgeries, demonstrating both his proficiency and dedication to achieving the best possible results for his patients.

Liv Hospital provides two types of hip replacement options. The standard prosthesis costs $12,500 USD. The robotic-assisted procedure costs $15,000 USD. Additional materials during surgery may add $2,500 USD to the total cost.
Treatment Process
The surgery requires 5-7 days of hospitalization. This includes 1 day in the intensive care unit. Patients should plan to stay in Turkey for 10-15 days total. The treatment begins with a consultation and imaging studies including CT scan and X-rays.
Before any procedure, patients must undergo COVID-19 screening. This includes PCR and antibody tests and costs $80 USD. A pulmonologist examination is also required as part of the pre-operative protocol.
Medical Team
The orthopedic team includes Professor Erdem Ertürer and Assistant Professor Kursat Kara. Both specialize in orthopedics and traumatology. Professor Ertürer provides consultations for complex cases and determines the best surgical approach for each patient.
The doctors review imaging before arrival. They create a personalized treatment plan based on each patient's condition. In some cases, they may recommend conservative treatment before surgery.

Post-Operative Care
Recovery protocols vary by case. Some patients need 45 days without weight-bearing on the affected leg. Follow-up MRI may be required to assess healing. Pain management and blood thinners are part of the recovery plan.
If inflammation is detected during pre-operative tests, a temporary spacer may be placed first. After 6 months of medication, the permanent prosthesis is installed.
