About the clinic
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is available at Advanced Fertility Center Cancun in Mexico. The basic IVF procedure may cost around 97,900 MXN without medications, while packages with medications or genetic testing range up to 269,000 MXN. The clinic is FDA certified and led by Dr. Everardo Treviño Ortiz, a reproductive endocrinologist with 27+ years of experience who pioneered DuoStim protocols in Mexico.
About the IVF Procedure
The clinic offers three IVF approaches. The basic option includes egg retrieval, embryo culture, and fresh transfer. Packages may add stimulation medications or PGT-A genetic testing with gender selection for up to 8 embryos.
The procedure includes:
- Egg retrieval under anesthesia
- Embryo culture to day 5
- ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)
- Fresh embryo transfer
- Vitrification storage for 1 year
Doctor's Expertise
Dr. Treviño specializes in reproductive endocrinology since 1998. He authored Mexico's first study on GnRH antagonists. His clinic uses FDA-certified labs with Miri ESCO TL® time-lapse incubators.
Treatment Process
Patients need hormonal tests and semen analysis before treatment. The recommended stay is 15 days in Cancun. Frozen transfers may occur after PGT-A results.
Those considering IVF can explore options at this certified fertility center in a relaxing beach location.

FAQ
Assisted reproductive technologies in IVF
Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) include:
- intrauterine insemination with sperm;
- ICSI (ICSI) - injection of sperm into the shell of the egg;
- IMSI (IMSI) - injection of a selected (healthiest) sperm into an egg;
- TESA (TESA) - aspiration (biopsy) of several sections of the testicles;
- TESE (TESE) - sampling of testicular tissue for the subsequent search for viable spermatozoa;
- cryopreservation (freezing) of eggs, sperm and embryos;
- donation of eggs, sperm and embryos;
- surrogacy.
IVF, like other methods of infertility therapy using ART, is performed by doctors on an outpatient basis.
What is included in the full in vitro fertilization program at Bookimed partner clinics?
Often, an IVF program includes:
- consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist, embryologist;
- stimulation of ovulation;
- receiving eggs (puncture);
- fertilization of mature eggs;
- embryo culture (usually 5 days);
- transfer of embryos (blastocysts) into the uterus.
Before and after IVF, the patient takes a specially selected course of hormonal drugs.
At the end of the second week after the transfer of the embryos, the woman undergoes a pregnancy test, and with a positive result, an ultrasound.
In most cases, doctors combine IVF with other assisted reproductive techniques. For example, blastocyst transfer (on the 5th day of embryo development) increases the chances of successful implantation and reduces the risk of multiple pregnancies. And pre-implantation genetic diagnosis of embryos makes it possible to avoid a number of chromosomal abnormalities.
