The da Vinci robotic system is used to reposition and fixate the prolapsed uterus back in place. While some patients benefit from robotic surgery for this procedure, others may undergo the surgery using laparoscopic techniques. Since uterine prolapse is often accompanied by bladder (cystocele) and rectal (rectocele) prolapse, these conditions are corrected simultaneously during the procedure. Additionally, the deformed vaginal structure is also restored.In cases of severe uterine prolapse, hidden urinary incontinence, which may not be apparent during preoperative examination, can become evident once the uterus is repositioned and fixated during surgery.
