I am a Registered Intensive Care Nurse in the US so knowing that Hisar Intercontinental Hospital is JCI certified( main reason I choose this hospital) gave me some assurance! I made the booking through bookimed who by the way were so accommodating with my dates , bookimed gave me more than two options in two countries and allowed me to choose what was best for me. I choose Hisar intercontinental hospital . After the decision was made I was contacted by a international coordinator from the hospital who tells you about airport pickup and coordinates your appointment with the surgeon, labs and appointment with anesthesia. The appointment with the surgeon was scheduled the day before the surgery unfortunately due to the European strikes I missed my flight and only arrived late the day before the surgery ( lab work and the anesthesia appointment was still done on that day). Appointment day- I met the surgeon and after consent surgery was done! I spent 3 days and 2 nights in the hospital because I needed it, I was given blood transfusions when needed, the nurses were agreeable Pros:hospital is clean, food is ok, up to date equipment( bp machines, iv catheters, hospital bed, )tv in room, toiletries and slippers provided, hot water in showers, cleaning service twice a day,Wi-Fi available, etc, all medications were given on time, nurses responsive to patient( I had them change my IV 4 times) Cons:language. Almost nobody speaks English! Get yourself the translator app. Translator only works day shift so you are on your own at night. 2.be your own advocate, if you feel something is off or if you know something should be done e.g lab work etc insist on it and it will be done.being a nurse I knew when my vitals were off and when interventions were needed so I insisted on the interventions and they were eventually done Overall good hospital.✅

I would like to thank the clinic for its good organisation and professional attitude. Everything was well thought out for my arrival - I was met and provided with a transfer. The hospital is large and modern, you can feel the high level of professionalism. The nursing staff is attentive and responsive. Special thanks to Dr Hazar - a wonderful doctor, everything was done accurately and with great precision. I had an endoscopic lift and blepharoplasty with small, neat stitches - I am very happy with the result. Thank you to the whole team for their work and care for patients.

Super Very happy with the procedure, doctor, staff, translator and hospital. The only complaint I have is about the app bookmed, because there were translation errors and some misunderstanding, so the hospital and doctor charged me 1000 (one thousand euros) more for the intervention that I had requested, and that the hospital and boerdonam took pity and charged me less than what would be the real value, thanks to the doctor and hospital, but beware of the translation or interpreter of the app bookmed.

I had excellent communication from Bookimed with regards to information on how to find out more about having surgery abroad. My medical co-ordinator was always just a quick text message away and answered any and all of my queries quickly and professionally. I settled on a particular surgeon, hospital, hotel and price. I paid the required deposit and flew out to Istanbul on the agreed date. As promised, I was met at the airport and taken by car to the hotel, signed in and shown to my room. The next day as arranged, I was picked up from the hotel and taken to Hisar Hospital Intercontinental for the pre-op tests and met with my surgeon to discuss and go over everything. The interpreter was always on hand to help with any language problems. The surgeon was very nice, professional and informative. About 30 mins after paying the outstanding balance I was told there seemed to be a problem regarding the cost of the procedure I was having. The upshot was, they expected me to pay 1500 euro on top of the agreed sum of 5000 euro which I'd already paid. Even though I provided copies of the text messages which outlined what was included in the procedure. I was shown into an office where it was made clear that if I didn't pay this extra sum, there would be no operation. I managed to get the sum reduced to 500 euro, but felt I had been forced/tricked/mugged into handing over more money than was agreed with Bookimed. The hospital blamed Bookimed, saying they should have been more explicit in their description of what's included in that particular procedure, even though one of the messages from the surgeon outlined the exact details of the procedure! I am disgusted at how I was treated and expect something to be done about it. I do want to point out that my treatment from the hospital nursing staff and my surgeon was wonderful, but be it the fault of the hospital admin department or Bookimed, this type of thing like this needs to be rectified. I won't ever use or recommend either establishment again.
