How are we doing?
About the clinic
Allogeneic bone marrow transplantation from a related donor is performed at Anadolu Medical Center in Gebze/Istanbul, Turkey. The procedure may cost around $50,000 (fully compatible donor) or $67,500 (haploidentical sibling). It is led by Prof. Dr. Zafer Gülbaş, a hematology-oncology expert with 77 years of experience and over 3,000 transplants performed.
About the Procedure
This treatment replaces diseased bone marrow with healthy cells from a matched donor. Donor options include fully matched siblings (10/10 HLA match) or haploidentical siblings (50% match). It is mainly used for blood cancers like leukemia and severe immune disorders.
What's Included
- Pre-transplant tests within 15 days before BMT
- Chemotherapy preparation and doctor fees
- 15-110 days of hospital stay with meals
- HLA typing for patient and one donor
- Bone marrow biopsy and lab tests
- Airport transfers and interpreter services
Treatment Process
Patients first undergo 3-4 weeks of chemotherapy. The actual transplant takes less than a day. Then comes the recovery phase with 90 days of monitoring. The full process takes about 4 months.
