About the Procedure
Total laryngectomy removes the voice box to treat advanced laryngeal cancer. Memorial Şişli provides two surgical approaches:
- Classical total laryngectomy with neck dissection ($26,900)
- Extended version including pectoral flap reconstruction ($33,900)
Treatment Package
The 11-night hospital stay includes:
- 1 ICU night and 10 ward nights
- Surgery with anesthesia
- Reconstruction if needed
- Companion stay during ward hospitalization
- Airport transfers and translation services
Preparation and Recovery
Patients need pre-operative tests like neck MRI ($500) and PET CT ($700). After surgery, eating resumes around day 10. Tracheostomy closure may occur after 3 months if cancer doesn't return. Some patients require additional radiation or chemotherapy.

Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience
The hospital was fantastic, room was private, with all required amenities, cafe - lovely, everything was beautiful and clean. Staff were just so accommodating, my Doctor was knowledgeable, explained the procedure in detail. Honestly, I'm in awe from this experience. And even though I was coming in with a slight fear and a tiny panic attack, there was really no need to worry, everything is on a highest level! Thanks to all!
Translators were top notch! Everything was amazing, I can't select just one thing.
Had issue with payment, it kept getting rejected and due to this I wasn't admitted right away. But once payment went through, all services followed smoothly.

Overall, the hospital is good
Perhaps it's due to a different mentality, but we didn't really like waiting endlessly - no procedure or appointment started on time, no one is in a hurry and no one appreciates other people's time.

I got more than value for my money
Memorial is more than a hospital. It is home from home. Very hospitable and caring staff who show a lot of empathy. My one night stay in the hospital was a delightful experience, kind and available staff, every neat and hygienic room. The doctors are on top of their job. I was taken through a lecture in nuclear physics 101, broken in simple language. The lecturer helped allayed my initial fears about the treatment. The treatment was speedy and the results came so quickly. The doctor was by my bedside to explain the next steps. The translator was fantastic. The transportation service was superb, always on time. I got more than value for my money. I will strongly recommend Memorial Sisli Hospital for any person seeking Lu-177 therapy
