Dr. Halil Can Gemalmaz, performed a robotic knee arthroplasty for my mother of 70 years old. Just after one video call with Dr. Can Gemalmaz, we knew he will be our surgeon. We then travelled to Istanbul for the surgery. Everything went very smooth. Surgery was a great success, exceeding all of our expectations. Dr. Can Gemalmaz is a very humble, kind, attentive and a caring Doctor, with a high sense of responsibility and professionalism. He took extra steps in everything he did. Dr. Gemalmaz treated my son (who is a competitive level basketball player) on two occasions over the past 4 years. He has done a wonderful job in assisting his return to sport in full health in both cases. In one case, it was a knee injury involving patellar tendinitis, and in the other, a relatively more serious case of L2 lombar spondylolysis. Dr. Gemalmaz communicated with my son, my wife and I in a clear and concise manner, requested appropriate diagnostic imaging (whilst avoiding unnecessary imaging involving additional expenses, wait time and radiation exposure), then adopted a conservative, risk averse treatment methodology. Luckily, surgery was not needed and my son is now back to full health. I would not hesitate to say that he's my number one recommendation for an orthopedist to anyone I know, regardless of where they live, or their orthopedic issue.
