Classical and Sapphire FUE
FUE — extraction of follicular units. During a procedure, grafts (1-4 hairs each) are transplanted from the donor zone to the recipient area.
The back of the head, arms, legs, back, or any other hairy part of the body can be the donor zone. The procedure is performed under local NeedleFree Anesthesia and lasts 6-8 hours, depending on the baldness type.
Sapphire FUE is the same as classical FUE technique, but a scalpel has a sapphire tip, which diameter is smaller and sharper than in the ordinary FUE instrument. Sapphire tool allows making micro-cuts up to 1 mm. Afterward, grafts will be inserted into them. A sapphire tip makes transplant more precise with more densely hair as a result. The skin also heals faster, and the risk of pustule is reduced.
The scalp heals in a week, on average. Then the bulbs take root, and new hairs grow out of them. The final result is visible in 12 months.
DHI technique
The DHI method is similar to FUE technique. The difference is in a tool extracting and implanting hair — called Choi pen. It reminds an automatic ballpoint pen. When the specialist presses the button, the pen inserts a hair graft into the scalp.
During DHI, the specialist immediately implants the extracted hair bulbs, while during the FUE, the doctor places them in a particular solution until he has collected enough hairs.
This ‘saved’ time improves hair grafting and success rates.
DHI benefits:

- less scalp trauma — punctures instead of incisions
- doesn’t require shaving before the procedure.
Some disadvantages:
- the cost is higher in comparison with FUE
- the method requires more attention and focus of a specialist and more time for the procedure as a result.

It’s hard to pick a hair procedure clinic outside your country - you only have friends/acquaintances who vouch for it, website content, clinical/professional designations and strangers’ online reviews. At the end of the day, you trust your judgement and take a chance. And I made the overwhelmingly right decision for me. Dr. Yavuz and his dedicated staff (Kerem, Naz, Icha, Basa and Ipec) were simply amazing. I’ve had past transplants from some of the best in Manhattan, and Dr. Yavuz and his team rank at that world class level. On travel logistics, from airport limo pickup, hotel and clinic drop offs, and airport return limo, the service conducted by Ipec was seamless. Not one hick up. Upon meeting Dr. Yavuz prior to the procedure he immediately impressed me as the consummate professional: deeply experienced, a great listener, articulate and extremely personable. Unlike other Istanbul clinics, he only has one patient in the morning and one in the afternoon. You get his undivided attention. And his team of dedicated technicians (Naz, Icha and Basa) worked professionally, meticulously and seamlessly throughout the procedure with Dr. Yavuz. Kerem, Dr. Yavuz’s assistant, was deeply helpful throughout the procedure and in the after care sessions. In a word, Dr. Yavuz and his team were outstanding. I have nothing but positive praise for my experience at this clinic.

Dr. Yavuz is fantastic, as many others have said in their reviews his clinic is top-notch. His assistant, aside from being super helpful and incredibly responsive (answers at 5am her time!), she has a great sense of humor, and that kind of helps give the whole clinic a really good vibe, which also makes the process so much less taxing on the nerves. My consultation was insightful and useful. The doctor advised options for both conservative treatment and operation. While I decided to cancel the operation last minute (my bad), the team was very understanding and I can say with confidence that I’d definitely go back again and probably will plan another trip in a few months after I see the results of the conservative treatment which he prescribed. I highly recommend Dr. Yavuz and his clinic!

Such a smooth service at Dr Yavuz clinic from start to finish. For my procedure I met Dr Yavuz at the start so he could plan what would happen and then the he was involved during the procedure at certain points too. I was pleased with the outcome and would certainly recommended!

I'm 3 weeks post-op and I couldn't be happier!

I had my hair transplant under Dr Yavuz about 5 weeks ago, the Doc and his team were very professional and organised. He also spoke very good English so this made it very easy to communicate. I had many questions about the procedure before and after, and even now the team responds promptly. Ho conosciuto il dottore Yavuz Ziya il 24/06/2016, quando, per il tramite della Star Medical Center, sono stato inviato presso la Estetistanbul Type Merkesi per sottopormi ad un trapianto di capelli. Pensavo, da quello che avevo letto, di farmi operare dal dottore Hamid Aydin, che non ho neppure visto, al suo posto c'era invece il dottore Zyia Yavuz , il quale mi ha disegnato con un pennarello l’hairline e poi non l’ho più visto se non a fine intervento , eseguito interamente da ragazzini che non so nemmeno se fossero qualificati per farlo , per fare due foto. Risultato : io mi ritrovo con una zona donatrice rovinata, non posso più sottopormi ad altri interventi di repair, e lui a quanto pare si è messo in proprio aprendo una nuova clinica. Ribadisco che all'epoca lavorava per la Estetistanbul.

Ich habe meine Haare vor gut zwei Wochen implantieren lassen. Dr. Ziya Yavuz und sein Team sind seriös, professionell und Patientenorientiert. Leider spricht das Team entweder Türkisch oder Englisch. Das Krankenhaus ist gut erreichbar.

This was my second hair transplant and Dr Yavuz was amazing! He consulted with me via Skype before I purchased tickets to Istanbul and he was very honest about what he could do for me (3000 grafts maximum). Upon arrival, we were dropped off to the hotel with no hassles and the next day I had surgery. Dr. Yavuz met me and we discussed my crown etc. He then advised the end result may be less than 3000 grafts. Long story short, he was able to get 4200 grafts and place them exactly where I wanted. Great experience and highly recommended
