The Hospital was found in 1870 by German industrial magnate Alfred Krupp to provide medical assistance to the workers at his plants. In 20 years the Clinic started to receive other patients. Special attention was paid to the equipment of the Clinic. Alfried Krankenhaus was one of the first in the world were X-ray device was established.
Modern building of the Hospital was built in 1980. Now it is a research and teaching center for the students of the University of Duisburg-Essen. The Hospital is financed by charity fund of the Krupps ensuring the high-quality medical assistance, devotion to the family values and observance of traditions of German healthcare.

Treatment and diagnostics of patients are provided by means of the advanced medical equipment:
- Computer-Aided Preoperative Planning and Intraoperative Navigation
- DaVinchi robotic system
- MRI of the last generation
- Cone-beam C-arm CT system
- Intensity-modulated radiation therapy device.
To reduce the risks and complications during and after surgeries the specialists of the Clinic apply microsurgical techniques including endoscopy, neuronavigation (during brain and spinal cord surgeries) and others.

Breast cancer center
The specializing center has received patients since 2004. The Center is certified by German Cancer Society and the German Society for Senology, and DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Standards of medical assistance. These make sure doctors provide the best available international experience for

Neurocenter
The Neurocenter receives patients with brain and spine disorders, affected peripheral nerves, nerve roots and musculature as well. The specialists in Neurology, Neurophysiology, Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology provide complex diagnostic and minimally-invasive treatment for numerous disease, incl. stroke, multiple sclerosis, Moyamoya syndrome, aneurysms and angiomas, Parkinson's disease, arterio-venous malformations and others.

Rehabilitation is one of the key specialties at Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus. Doctors are specialized in cancer, neurological and physiotherapeutic rehabilitations.
Treatment of foreign patients

Ich wurde durch meinen Hausarzt wegen eines akutem Verdacht auf XXXX zur weiteren Behandlung und Klärung an die Neurologie überwiesen.Nach einem EKG und Sono sowie einer Blutabnahme wurde ich etwa drei Stunden später als unbedenklich nach Hause geschickt.Es wurde empfohlen einen niedergelassenen Kardiologen zur weiteren Diagnostik aufzusuchen und ggfs. zusätzlich ein CT anfertigen zu lassen.Warum dies nicht sofort oder einen Tag später wo ich mich schon einmal im Krankenhaus befinde ?!Auch mein Hausarzt konnte das nicht nachvollziehenHier war ich das erste und letzte Mal.

Hervorragend! Ich wurde kurzfristig operiert, alles ging problemlos, schnell und unkompliziert. Das gesamte Personal wirkt(e) sowohl bei der OP als auch bei der stationären wie ambulanten Nachsorge kompetent und ist sehr freundlich! Auch die Termine zur Nachsorge in der chirurgischen Ambulanz werden immer sehr pünktlich eingehalten! Top!!

Wir waren Gestern zur Untersuchung für meine Mann,ich kann nur Danke sagen wir wurden sehr gut Betreut würde immer wieder in diese Klinik gehen Danke.

Unfreundliches Personal, geben dumme Kommentare.. haben keine Lust auf ihren Job !!!Anscheinend haben die sich den falschen Job ausgesucht..

Ich wurde vor einigen Tagen an meiner Nase operiert und wollte daher meine Erfahrung berichten. Leider wurde ich einen Tag später als geplant operiert, aber netterweise hat mir dies der Doktor selber mitgeteilt. Ich war auf Station 2b:Krankenschwestern: Alle waren sehr nett und das möchte ich nochmal betonen, da dies heutzutage immer mehr zu Rarität wird und man leider immer wieder mit unfreundlichen Schwestern konfrontiert wird. Und ich denke ich spreche im Munde aller, wenn ich sage, dass das sehr wichtig für den schon ohne hin unangenehmen - manchmal auch beängstlichen - Aufenthalt im Krankenhaus. Regelmäßig wurde ich und meine Zimmernachbarin kontrolliert mit einem freundlichen Grinsen und gefragt, ob wir denn etwas möchten. Solch eine warme Atmosphäre hat angesichts meiner Angst wegen der OP gut getan. Angekommen bei den Narkose Fachärzten (Station -1) hab ich eine extreme freundliche Aufnahme erlebt. Beide Frauen haben mich mit einem breiten Grinsen erwartet und alles schritt für Schritt erklärt. Obwohl das meine erste OP war, ich sogar eine Beruhigungstablette bekam und trotzdem immer noch Angst hatte, wurde ich mit einem breiten warmen Lächeln aufgenommen und ehe ich mich versah, lag ich schon auf meiner Station. Zudem muss icu noch ein fetten Pluspunkt anmerken: als ich auf meinem Zimmer ankam, bemerkte ich dass nach der OP sogar mein Kopftuch gebunden wurde (so gut wie es ging:) ). Ich war total überrascht, dass den Chirurgen oder Helfern, sogar ein solches ‚Detail‘ nicht aus dem Auge entging. Auch die Stationsärztinnen (die Namen habe ich leider leider vergessen) waren super nett und sind auf all meine Fragen einfangen. Besonders mein Entziehen meiner Tamponagen hatte ich totale Angst, da ich vieles Zeug darüber gehört hatte. Aber die Ärztin hat das super gemacht und mich auch beruhigt. Ein Minuspunkt ist allerdings, dass am nächsten Tag, an dem Schleim abgesaugt werden sollte, der Arzt (als ich die Hand meiner Schwester hielt vor Angst, da es am Tag davor wehtat) sagte: ‚Das ist doch nicht Ihr Ernst.‘Eine solche Wortwahl hat in dem Behandlungsraum meiner Meinung nach nichts zu suchen, besonders wenn man das Zittern und die Nervosität des Patienten sieht. Alles in allem, fand ich den Aufenthalt im Krankenhaus angenehm. Erwähnen würde ich gerne trotzdem, dass meine Rezension sich nur auf die Station 2b bezieht.

Rundum positive Erfahrungen. Ausgesprochen gut organisiertes und kompetentes Krankenhaus. Bin wirklich begeistert. Habe mich während meiner Zeit auf verschiedenen Stationen sehr gut aufgehoben und betreut gefühlt. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team!

During my brother-in-law's cancer hospitalization, the entire team on the 5th floor, including Chief of Physicians Dr. Hennamann and Dr. Finzi, provided exceptional support and service. Their dedication and care were outstanding, even though we lost our loved one on November 7th, 2024. We are deeply grateful for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
