I was in need of having a torn rotator cuff repaired quickly and more important less costly than the US. I did a Google search for traveling Medical and came across Bangkapok9 Hospital. In my email correspondence I had begun to feel very comfortable with what I was hearing so I made arrangements to fly to Bangkok. Upon arrival I was greeted at the gate, walked through Passport control and had my luggage picked up. I was then escorted to a waiting Van to be taken to my Hotel. The next day I met with the Doctor and his staff for a review of my case. I spent an hour with the Doctor who walked me through his plan for me. I cannot express how well the staff looks after me. Everyday that I have an appointment the hospital sends a van to pick me up and to take me back so that I do not have to negotiate my way through Bangkok traffic on my own. Upon arrival to my appointments I am quickly taken in to see whomever I have the appointment with. Wait time is almost non existent. One of the staff stays with me and acts as an interpreter. Mustsee has been with me on numerous occasions and makes sure that I understand everything. These people are very caring and want the best for the patient. I have been doing Physical Therapy 3-4 times per week and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The therapist remains with you the entire time to make sure that you are doing procedures correctly. I have done physio in the states and the therapist will give you exercises to do and then walk away to tend to someone else. The ratio here is 1-1. The patient is important to them.After 3 weeks, I finished up my last meeting with my Doctor and Physical Therapist. I now feel 100% better than I did upon my arrival. 3 other Doctor's (India, & Mexico) recommended surgery when it was unnecessary. Dr Pibul read my MRI correctly and decided that physical therapy was the way to cure my problem. Since I am paying for this on my own, cost was a major concern for me and my wallet. I definitely got more bang for my buck here in Thailand. If I were to do the same regimen that I have done here back in the States the cost would have run almost 9 times higher.I cannot recommend this facility more highly, if you are thinking of having a procedure done, please do not hesitate.
