I was there with my 4.5-year-old child. My child had a neck injury, and we went to the emergency department with great concern.
First of all, I would like to thank you for the help we received. Nevertheless, I would like to share some concerns. The communication was very poor – not because of the language (I am a German citizen and native Turkish speaker), but because of the content. After the X-ray, the emergency doctor told us that surgery might be necessary because he believed he saw a slipped disc pressing on the spinal cord. After the MRI and CT scans, however, it became clear that this was not the case.
When I asked why such a serious scenario had been mentioned, the answer was that the child was simply holding his head tilted during the X-ray. Of course, that was exactly the reason we came to the hospital in the first place. He should have considered this in his analysis. Because of the doctor’s words, we went through one hour of unnecessary fear and stress.
Another issue was the MRI examination. Understandably, it is very difficult for a 5-year-old child to remain completely still in an MRI machine for 20 minutes, and therefore no usable results could be obtained. A CT scan was then performed instead, but we were still charged for both procedures. From my point of view, I do not find this entirely fair. I refused to pay for the MRI.
I believe that doctors and staff should have enough experience to recognize such situations and act accordingly.
Please do not misunderstand me: I am grateful for the medical support my child received, although it was very costly !!!. At the same time, I cannot say that I was fully satisfied with the way the situation was managed.

Ms. Arzu went above and beyond, making all the necessary arrangements and being there for us day and night, even over the weekend. Dr. Humayun Kakar, the cardiologist, is truly outstanding. Life-saver, exceptional Dr. Unlike many hospitals, this one prioritizes patient care without the worry of being overcharged. Every nurse and staff member exemplifies top-notch professionalism and compassion. I am forever thankful for the support we received during such a challenging time. EDIT: IMPORTANT! The post below remains true when talking about the doctors and the VIP staff. HOWEVER! The hospital has changed their policy and is no longer accepting foreigners using SGK. This to me is absolutely insane and unfair. I work here and I pay an incredible amount of tax to the government. There is no reason that I should be denied care and medicine! I am very upset and I am hoping that enough people file complaints so that the hospital changes their decision.
I have been coming here, as a foreign resident, for a couple of years now and I truly appreciate everyone I have dealt with. The VIP translation team has saved me with all of their amazing help the entire time! Seda, Ahmed, Buse, and Liz have always been so kind and incredibly helpful every second. Dr. Can recently did a wonderful surgery for me and Dr. Semih has been great in dermatology. I am extremely satisfied and thankful for all of their work.

Had a positive experience with general checkup with ASG insurance, but I needed to see a dermatologist to have two spots checked. He spent literally 3 minutes with me, no procedure was done, all he said was that the spots were benign and there was nothing to be concerned about - for which I was charged 5800 TL - outrageous! I was appalled that I should have to pay so much to be told there's nothing wrong.
If you're looking for dermatology advice - don't come here as it's a total ripoff, you'll pay less to see a top consultant dermatologist in the UK including flying there and back!
