Note: I did NOT get liposuction. The doctor determined I was too lean and it wasn't needed (I was around 9-10% bodyfat). My procedure was removing loose skin from my weight loss journey. Everyone was kind and the doctor was very skilled and caring, plus very frank about realistic expectations. The care felt good, but it's too early to know the actual outcome. Communication, however, was a bit of a weak point. I only saw the doctor three times and had to text his staff for information, which often felt delayed. The translation services could have been better, and there were a few minor clinical mishaps. For anyone going, budget for your own food and drinks, and think ahead about bringing recovery clothes, a back scratcher, and entertainment for downtime.

Everyone was kind and I feel the doctor was very skilled and caring. I got a tummy tuck and gyno procedure to remove extra skin from weight loss. The doctor was very frank about the tradeoffs and realistic expectations. I feel the care and the procedure were good (won't know actual outcomes for a while). The accommodations were good, the hotel was nice the staff took good care of me outside of my medical needs. Shout out to my driver, he was an amazing help even outside of just driving me around.

I only saw the doctor 3x (preop, postop, and release). Often the appointments weren't set and I had to do a lot of the requests through text messages to his staff. I didn't have the doctor's direct line at all so a lot of answers and information always felt like it was showing up late. Even now after my release and return home, I'm having to ask multiple times for recovery information that honestly should have been written down and given to me prior to being released. The clinic was professional, but the translation could have been better. I was never confident that I was actually being completely understood. There were a few mishaps, the nurse placing my IV kind of fumbled that and I ended up bleeding all over my street clothes. Catheter removal didn't go so well either and that led to quite a bit of discomfort.

From the very beginning of my journey through to returning home to Australia, I felt supported, cared for, and completely confident in my decision. A very special thank you to Liliia from Bookimed, who assisted me throughout the entire process. She coordinated everything for my surgery and made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel so much easier. She was always helpful, responsive, and reassuring, and I am so grateful for her support. Dr. Ilker Manavbasi was absolutely amazing from the moment we first met until the day I left Istanbul. I underwent a tummy tuck, breast reduction, and 360 liposuction, and I honestly could not be happier with my results. They are even better than I had hoped for and have completely exceeded my expectations. Dr. Ilker’s nursing team were also wonderful and supported me every step of the way. A special mention must go to Ceyda, who stayed in communication with me via WhatsApp throughout my entire stay in Istanbul. Knowing that she and the team were always just a message away gave me so much reassurance. The aftercare was exceptional. Nurses came to my hotel every second day for lymphatic massages, and whenever I needed anything, the team was there to help. I never felt like I was left on my own once the surgery was over — the care and attention continued throughout my recovery. My recovery has been amazing, and I truly believe that is because of the wonderful care I received from Dr. Ilker and his team. Travelling from Australia to Istanbul for surgery was a big decision, but looking back, I am so happy that I did it. Thank you Liliia, Dr. Ilker Manavbasi, Ceyda, and the entire nursing team for taking such wonderful care of me. The consultation and the operation itself were carried out by the same doctor — that was absolutely crucial to me. Using a computer simulation, he showed me in detail what we were aiming to achieve in terms of both breathing and appearance, so I knew exactly what I was getting into. It was a full rhinoplasty using the closed technique. If you’re considering this operation, don’t be afraid to ask about anything that’s on your mind: the team were always on hand and helped to sort out any queries quickly, so the whole trip went smoothly, without any unnecessary stress. I’m still only at the start of my recovery, and it feels pretty much as I expected. It’s reassuring that there were no hidden or additional costs.

I would like to express my immense gratitude to the entire Bookimed team for the impeccable organisation of my trip and treatment. Right from the start, I felt supported, looked after and cared for at every stage. All issues were resolved quickly and professionally. If I were asked whether I would recommend lipofilling, I would say: think very carefully. It’s not a straightforward procedure. I had a buttock augmentation, with fat taken from several areas, and recovery takes a long time – you’ll definitely need to take time off work. I’m still in the middle of my recovery, and the bruising in the donor areas is still causing me some discomfort. Overall, I’m happy with the staff’s work; everything’s up to a good standard. But my main advice is: prepare yourself, get to know the doctor, and be fully aware of all the consequences. The most important thing is to choose your doctor carefully.

I liked the driver. The fact that there’s a transfer service is a big plus

Pre-operative care and information. There’s no need to rush into the operation. First, you should see a few doctors yourself, find out all the details, and only then go ahead with the operation. I wasn’t very impressed with the doctor’s manner. He’s nervous. He doesn’t like it when people ask too many questions. If there’s a problem, he runs off. The interpreter wasn’t very helpful.

Te experience was something else. At the clinic everyone was amazing but there were also some problems. Bookimed and the clinic did not communicate that efficiently.. there were some problems and the result was me having to reschedule the operation which was nerve wracking because I had everything already booked. Other than that the experience at the clinic was good, everyone is kind and ready to help with everything you need.

My experience with bookimed was something else.. For the bright side the staff i was talking to was quite nice and responsive. But there were also some not so good things that happend. They had problems forwarding my phone number to the clinic and because of that I came in contact with the clinic only a week before my departure. More problems accrued with the date agreed with bookimed which apparently did not please to the clinic but because of the number problem they could not contact me regarding the reschedule. We agreed on another date a few days before my departure.. it was a really stressful experience.
