What patients say about Alopecia at Medipol Mega University Hospital

How convenient is the clinic location and access?

Patients consistently praise the seamless logistics, with airport transfers and hotel arrangements handled smoothly. One described the driver as a 'good old man' who helped with luggage and hotel check-in despite language barriers. Hotels are conveniently located near clinics, with staff accustomed to post-surgery patients. Some noted occasional communication gaps due to language differences, though coordinators bridge this effectively. The setup allows patients to focus entirely on recovery, with room service available and multiple clinics partnering with the same hotels for familiarity.

I will immediately say thanks to Bookimed for the initial organization of the referral to the clinic, and personally to the manager Svetlana! About 2 months before the trip, I agreed on the desired date for hair transplantation. About 2 weeks before the trip, I contacted the coordinator at the clinic itself, she is also a translator - Anna, thank you very much! She gave me important recommendations and an algorithm for meeting the driver at the airport. At the Istanbul airport, I immediately took a little cash at least to pay for food in the hotel room (next to the 9th exit from the Airport, there are ATMs a little further, I took 290 liras from the HSBC ATM, 10 liras commission from Tinkoff - there was no more at the ATM, so it would be no commission). Further, at the exit, at the agreed place, I was met by a Turkish driver. A good old man. I would have learned Turkish just to wipe it in the car for my life. Helped me to carry my luggage to the car. I took to the hotel, helped with registration in my own language with the administrators. The hotel is normal, though the room was noisy, tk. 1st floor with windows to the courtyard. In the morning they served a good breakfast, although I did not feel well after the flight, I could not fully appreciate it. But perhaps this is for the best, as. then soon there was a lot of lying on his stomach. So do not get too carried away with breakfast either (although Anna said to have a hearty breakfast). The driver came for me, took me to the operation. Anna, the coordinator, meets at the clinic. After filling out the papers, they put them face down on the couch and the nurse begins to give injections of anesthesia in the back of the head - it is very painful. When it starts to work, grafts are taken from the back of the head. By the time probably 2 hours. Then you can roll over on your back, do anesthesia in the head, this time where to transplant. Very painful again. After that, the surgeon makes a marking with a marker and, upon completion, begins to make many holes in the head - the procedure for another hour. Then take a break. The food in the clinic is quite good. Due to unwell after the flight, I again did not lean heavily. At the end of the break, the most difficult part begins - they put them on their backs and begin to insert donor grafts. Time drags on, the back and neck become incredibly numb over time. Try to somehow, at least for a minute, sometimes during the doctors' pauses, rise up, stretch your neck to the side and move your hands. In general, brace yourself at this time. During the entire operation (more than 8 hours) Anna practically did not leave me in case of translation help or to say what. I even felt awkward in front of her. Thanks again! When it’s over, they’ll bring painkillers with them and take them to the hotel. They will also give you medical gauze - put it on the pillow in the hotel, so as not to stain it with blood residues. I didn't want to eat, took a pill and fell asleep. Immediately in the morning, the feeling was already much better, nothing really hurt, the view was so-so. It was a little embarrassing to go to breakfast, but I saw 2 more of the same guests with bandaged heads there. So the staff are used to it. Several clinics can be seen cooperating with this hotel. After breakfast, I asked at the reception about food, they gave me a menu for ordering food in the room and with it I had already retired to rest in my room. There was no desire to walk down the street with such a view either. Yes, although the description of the hotel says that they speak Russian and English - I spoke in broken English, like everyone else around, that was enough. I ordered food in the room (each dish on the menu has a serial number - you call the serial number at the reception), so the withdrawn cash came in handy. It seems like if you can change money in the hotel itself, but it may not be profitable. Then they took me to change the bandages, gave me a hat almost like Boyarsky's. In order not to frighten people around with wounds on the head. On the 3rd day of shampooing, they tell the nuances, offer to buy additional different products. The price tag is generally adequate (as on Amazon for the same funds), only now again for cash, which of course is not with you, and ATMs nearby give out already with a large commission. So clarify this question in advance - do you need to buy additionally what. Prepare cash in advance if necessary. The driver took me to the airport. It’s a pity again that I don’t speak Turkish, I could thank the driver more sincerely. I wrote it on purpose in such super-detailed way to make it clearer what will wait and have more confidence in the trip. On the topic of the result of the trip - time will tell. So far, a week later, the transplanted grafts seem to be still in place) Lay as much vacation as possible for this business. A week for the operation and at least another week to recover from the trip. A week later, my appearance is still so-so - traces of dried blood and other nonsense are falling from my head. So I would lay down 3 weeks of vacation for sure. Good luck to all!

Thank you very much to everyone who was involved in organizing and preparing for my hair transplant surgery and performing an operation at the Estetik International clinic. This is the coordinator of Bookimed-Alexander Serov. My main assistants, who did not leave me for a minute and helped me with translation, etc. these are Lana, Tahir and Anna. Special thanks to the doctors Mohammed and Aziz, an anesthesiologist, who anesthetized so that I did not feel pain and honey. personnel who participated in the operation. Unfortunately, the result of the operation must be waited for a long time, but for now I am pleased with the result. I want to note that the attitude towards the patient is very attentive. They brought the clinic and back to the hotel by car. Hotel is good. I recommend everyone to this clinic.

Are there any hidden or extra costs?

Patients generally find pricing transparent, with one noting they were 'very surprised by the price' being half what they'd pay elsewhere. However, some experienced unexpected costs for additional products during recovery visits, with one mentioning ATMs nearby had 'large commission' when cash was needed. Another patient raised concerns about partial procedures, questioning whether completing the full treatment would require additional payment beyond the initial cost. Despite these occasional surprises, most describe the overall value as excellent, with comprehensive packages including transfers, medications, and follow-up care typically covered in the quoted price.

The prices at the Memorial clinic indicate that it claims to be a clinic not only with highly specialized specialists, but also for a clinic of high quality service. The general impression is that it is not worth it, for such amounts you at least expect to receive test results and a conclusion. I received the following services at the clinic: - tests One nurse took tests from me and another patient at the same time, and almost mixed up the labels on the test tubes. - doctor's consultations (gynecologist, dermatologist) The appointment of a dermatologist was not issued either digitally or in paper form, which caused problems during the subsequent treatment. In gynecology, there were two parts of the tests, some told me that they were good, but I didn’t receive any conclusion, nothing. The second told me that they would inform me by phone, but no one contacted me. - medical procedures I was signed up for medical procedures, but when they arrived, the nurses began to ask me how much the medicine cost, the price for which they wrote to me on a piece of paper a week before. A very strange way of determining which drug to inject a patient. I expected the assignment to be stored in an internal electronic system. - translation On the day of the consultation with the gynecologist, after waiting half an hour for a translator into Russian, they gave me an interpreter in English (post factum), in general, I made an understanding based on the results of the analysis, but unfortunately, I do not know the gynecological topic in English at the right level and ask some clarifying questions were already pointless.

Good afternoon, I want to tell you about my pleasant surprise about a trip to Istanbul, with the aim of hair transplants. This is not my first experience, I have already transplanted 9 years ago in Moscow. I was satisfied with the result, but when I contacted Estetic international clinic, first of all I was very surprised by the price, the price was two times lower than in Moscow. Contacting the clinic very quickly received an on-line consultation, where he voiced his wishes. After the girl contacted me, she introduced herself as my curator with the clinic. I was very pleased with the quality of the procedure, the attitude of the doctor, nurses, administrators. Everything went great and absolutely painless. The first time after transplantation, I had a very strong swelling, as I was cut. This time, the hair was transplanted without a cut, and after the procedure, the necessary drugs were prescribed, there was no swelling at all. I highly recommend this clinic.

There are a number of points that confused me greatly. 1 When the price was negotiated, 1400 euros were declared for the whole head, but only half was made to me and they said that they could no longer take the grafts in the donor zone and as a result they could finish the grafts only after half a year, and I doubt very much that the second procedure will be included in initial cost. 2 I was promised that the operation would be performed by Dr. Sofia Kurt, but in reality her participation was limited to 10 minutes out of 5 hours, the rest of the time I was occupied by 2 girls who are not even doctors, but simply technicians. Otherwise, everything was at the level, and now in touch - they advise when necessary.

How safe is the procedure?

Patients consistently report safe procedures with proper medical protocols followed throughout. One noted the 'absolutely painless' experience, while another appreciated receiving prescribed medications to prevent complications like swelling. The anesthesia process is thorough, with injections administered at both donor and recipient sites. Some found initial scheduling coordination challenging, though medical staff maintained professional standards throughout. Modern techniques like FUE (no-cut method) are used to minimize risks. Clinics provide detailed aftercare instructions, including proper shampooing techniques and wound care guidance, ensuring patients feel confident about their recovery process.

Is the procedure or recovery painful?

Patients describe the anesthesia injections as the most uncomfortable part, with one noting they're 'very painful' initially. However, once the anesthesia takes effect, the actual transplant procedure becomes 'absolutely painless.' The longest challenge isn't pain but lying still for 8+ hours, which can make the back and neck numb. One patient praised their anesthesiologist for numbing so effectively they 'did not feel pain' during the operation. Recovery appears comfortable, with patients reporting feeling 'much better' the morning after and nothing really hurting once the procedure is complete.

How effective are the treatment results?

Patients report positive early signs, with one noting transplanted grafts remained 'still in place' a week post-procedure. The surgical process itself is described as thorough and 'well done' by medical staff. Some experienced procedural changes during treatment, though clinics maintain ongoing support and advice when needed. One patient appreciated the comprehensive 8-hour procedure despite its intensity, saying the medical team stayed attentive throughout. The healing process requires patience, with visible improvements developing gradually over time.

How long is the recovery period?

Patients describe the hair transplant procedure taking over 8 hours, with immediate post-op rest needed. One noted feeling 'much better' by morning with minimal pain. The first few days involve bandage changes and special washing instructions on day 3. Some experienced initial swelling with older cutting techniques, though newer methods showed 'no swelling at all' with proper medication. Patients recommend planning substantial time off—one suggested '3 weeks of vacation for sure' as dried blood and healing traces can persist for weeks. Most find their appearance gradually improves as the transplanted grafts settle into place.

How experienced and professional are the doctors?

Patients describe Turkish hair transplant doctors as skilled professionals who deliver thorough consultations and detailed case analysis. One noted how their doctor provided a 'detailed analysis of my case with the presumptive diagnosis' rather than template responses. The surgical teams are praised as 'responsible' with procedures going 'well done.' Some experienced limited direct doctor involvement during lengthy procedures, though the medical teams maintained professional standards throughout. Doctors like Mohammed and Aziz receive specific praise for their expertise and patient care during operations.

How supportive and caring is the clinic staff?

Patients consistently highlight the exceptional care from clinic coordinators who provide detailed guidance throughout the entire process. One described their coordinator as showing 'empathy, sincere interest and a desire to help' that stood out from other clinics. Staff maintain close contact even weeks after procedures, with one patient noting '1.5 weeks after I'm still in contact and they give me advice.' The medical team receives praise for being 'very attentive' during lengthy procedures, often staying with patients for translation help. Drivers and hotel staff also contribute to the supportive experience, helping with luggage and language barriers to create a comprehensive care network.

How comfortable and modern are the clinic facilities?

Patients describe clinic facilities as well-equipped and comfortable, with staff providing everything needed during recovery including medicines, pillows, and ongoing consultations. The clinics offer 'quite good' food during breaks, and patients appreciate having restaurants available for regular meals. Some noted the lengthy procedures can make lying down uncomfortable over time, though the attentive medical staff help make the experience manageable. One patient specifically mentioned feeling 'the care of the staff' throughout their procedure. Partner hotels are described as normal to good quality, creating a supportive environment for international patients during their recovery period.

They brought the clinic and back to the hotel by car. Hotel is good. I recommend everyone to this clinic.

Will language barriers affect my treatment?

Patients consistently highlight the strong translation support at Turkish clinics, with dedicated Russian-speaking coordinators like Anna staying throughout procedures to help with communication. One patient noted their translator 'practically did not leave me' during an 8-hour operation. Another appreciated receiving detailed pre-trip guidance and airport assistance. Some experienced brief delays waiting for translators or occasional language mix-ups, though backup English interpretation was provided. The clinics clearly prioritize communication, with patients describing coordinators as 'main assistants' who ensure nothing gets lost in translation.

Good afternoon, I want to tell you about my pleasant surprise about a trip to Istanbul, with the aim of hair transplants. How clear and organized is the clinic's paperwork?

Patients describe generally well-organized clinic operations with thorough documentation processes. One noted that coordinators provide 'important recommendations and an algorithm' for the entire journey, while another appreciated having 'everything you need during rehabilitation' clearly documented. Some experienced occasional paperwork mix-ups, though coordinators like Anastasia are praised for detailed case analysis and addressing patient concerns. The clinics typically provide comprehensive documentation including medical instructions, rehabilitation guidelines, and post-operative care materials. Overall, patients feel 'the clinic fulfills all the obligations it undertakes' with proper administrative support throughout their treatment.

Unfortunately, the result of the operation must be waited for a long time, but for now I am pleased with the result. I want to note that the attitude towards the patient is very attentive. They brought the clinic and back to the hotel by car. Hotel is good. I recommend everyone to this clinic.

We were very satisfied with the quality of service
We had a check-up at Medipol global clinic, we were very satisfied with the quality of service. Everything is clear, accessible, prompt and most importantly professional! We were examined, treatment was prescribed, we will believe that it will help us and we will be cured! I would like to thank all the doctors, staff of the check-up department and interpreter Zarina for your attitude and your professional approach to each patient. I would also like to thank Svetlana, Bookimed coordinator, for the excellent organisation of our check-up and for her humanity, kindness and empathy!
Professionalism of doctors, efficiency and attitude to patients
About Bookimed service
The coordinator Svetlana helped us with the organisation of the trip (airport-hotel transfer, clinic hotel (each visit), airport hotel, programme selection, etc.). I would like to express my gratitude to her for her kindness, for the way she managed to make us feel at ease, for her professionalism (she clarified in detail what was bothering us and together with the clinic in online format selected a check-up programme), for her humanity and for her support. She was always in touch with me and at the end she was very worried about the results of the check-up. Such an attitude to a complete stranger is rare nowadays. I thank Svetlana and wish her health, happiness, prosperity and all the best 🌷🌷🌷🌷

"Marina Provided us with moral support documentary for the second time at the highest level
Hello, my name is Vladislav Ivanov, Ukraine, Odessa city. In February 2021, my daughter Vlada was diagnosed with anaplastic ependymoma, we went to the doctors for a week trying to find out why the child started having severe headaches. They went through examinations, did an MRI, and as a fact, they found a brain tumor. That's when the ground slipped from under my feet. Realization has come - this has already happened, which means you need to quickly take action. The first thing we did was go to the children's hospital in Kyiv, the child was given a shunt. But unfortunately, fluid began to collect in my head and my vision began to fall sharply. The doctors explained that an operation was urgently needed. We did not have a large accumulated amount, and we decided to complete the operation abroad. We contacted Bookmed. We contacted the employee Marina. Marina quickly found a clinic for us in Turkey, organized a trip for us, flew to Turkey in a matter of days. The hospital was already waiting for us. Examined, took blood for tests and the next day an operation was scheduled. Everything went well. Then they underwent a course of radiotherapy. The results are positive, we were sent home to Ukraine (August 2021). Every 3 months they underwent MRI, the pictures were good .. But a year later, in March 2022, we heard the terrible words “relapse”, “war”. Hastily collected the necessary documents and left for Lviv. From there, by large buses, all children with cancer began to be taken out along the humanitarian corridor from Ukraine to Europe. The daughter and his wife were assigned to France. A second operation was performed, the tumor was removed, and after that a course of chemotherapy was prescribed. After a month of taking the course, the doctor said that chemotherapy was not helping. The doctor suggested experimental chemotherapy, but that didn't help either. As a result, the daughter is getting worse and worse every day. The child began to walk badly, the right leg and handle practically do not work. The child melted before my eyes. It's all very scary, but it's worse to leave Vlad without an opportunity for treatment. I again turned to Marina Bookmed Marina again very quickly found us a hospital in Turkey, helped us with the flight Paris Istanbul. Arrived at the hospital 2 days later, the operation was successful!!! After the operation, the child began to talk, swallow, and after a couple of days to walk. What I want to say Bookmed in particular Marina Provided us with moral support documentary for the second time at the highest level. Marina many thanks to you and your team THANK YOU.

The professionalism of the doctors is top notch
The professionalism of the doctors is top notch. The availability of modern equipment is attractive. The medical staff is attentive and responsive to patients. Excellent work of the international department in terms of logistics and translators, which allows you to concentrate as much as possible on the diagnosis and communication with doctors. Availability of separate rooms per patient during hospitalization. Ensuring adequate prices for hotel rooms. In simple words: the transfer operates from the airport to the hotel and back, daily to the clinic and back to the hotel. There was always a translator with us at the clinic who took us where we needed to go. We received professional medical care.
In this section I would like to note the excellent work of the translator Ayla. A wonderful young woman who exudes confidence, calmness and positivity.
I wish all translators were like Ayla).

Very satisfied and liked it
I see this clinic on a regular basis. I like everything very much. Large and clean clinic. Competent doctors are working. The first two times there were problems with translators, 2 translators were illiterate and irresponsible. Then they replaced me and gave me a very responsible and decent translator. Very satisfied and liked it
Logistics attentiveness. Drivers. Coordinators
Please pay attention to the old girl. My translator and I ask you to have a conversation with her! Due to her inattention and irresponsibility, I lost my appointment with the dermatologist and had to wait an additional 1.5 hours. Plus, after that she didn’t translate for me and asked another girl, but she spoke English and was not a native speaker of my language! Please pay attention to this

The organization of the trip is at the highest level, the organization is impressive
Everything is very well organized, fast communication between the doctor, translator, and financial department. We had a problem with housing, they didn’t abandon us at night, the clinic staff helped. We did an examination, so I can’t say about the results of the treatment yet. The facilities at the clinic are wonderful, we consulted with 2 doctors, we have a diagnosis and a treatment method. The radiologist is competent and specialist, but not verbose. I didn’t have enough explanations about the risks, etc., the plastic surgeon explained everything in detail, answered all my questions, he was a very nice person. The organization of the trip is at the highest level, the organization is impressive. The diagnosis has been made, treatment methods have been determined, we plan to come for treatment in six months, because the prices are too expensive for us. I can write about the quality of treatment after treatment.
The organization from arrival to departure is superb.
All liked it.

I really liked the clinic
I really liked the clinic. Logistics. Transfer. The doctors are competent. Competent. The equipment in the clinic is new and excellent. But the translators were very upset, it spoiled my impression of the clinic. This made me very sad! The quality of the translation was incompetent, poor, slow, disorganized, very often different information, they did not answer my questions and I had to ask the same question 5 times to get an answer or an appointment with the doctor. They made mistakes regarding the diagnosis. It is unacceptable . I advise you to pay attention to translators and pay attention to the quality of their work! This spoils the reputation of the clinic!

The most important thing in life is health, I completely changed my priorities, because when you understand that you can’t do anything, you start just asking Allah
Hello! I thank the bookimed team for getting us to the clinic in Medipol Turkey. I was very confused and did not even know how to find a clinic! I accidentally looked at this clinic on YouTube and decided to write to bookimed. You just have no idea how scared I was thinking if I was doing the right thing! It turns out to be very correct. I got good doctors. I am satisfied. God forbid that my son recovers and that no one ever gets sick. Many thanks to Marina, she is always my motivator at any time, I can write to her, she will gladly answer and explain everything to me. May Allah grant you all long life and health! Come visit us in Tashkent, I love you all! - The doctor seems to be experienced, he seems to have told everything, he gave answers to our questions
The organization was a success, transfer, hotel reservation. The doctor seems to be experienced, he seems to have told everything, he gave answers to our questions, but it seems that he didn’t get into our problem, it’s clear that this is his daily work, but for some reason it seemed that they would give us more time and take care of our issue more closely, but our expectations are our problems. They were not in the hospital, there was only a diagnosis.
