I came here because I had pain in my lower back, and I came to have tests done to make sure everything was okay. Since I wasn’t in my home country and I didn’t speak the language, I was a bit apprehensive at first, but the nurses were more than adorable with me—they accompanied me from beginning to end, gave me lots of advice, and tried to make me smile (they succeeded). I highly recommend this center. The tests were completed the same day, and the results also came very quickly. It was an excellent experience. Of course, the team speaks very good English!

Advantages:
- Responsiveness of the teams, with the possibility to communicate via WeChat in English (very convenient if you have questions).
- Immediate care upon arrival (I had let them know in advance on WeChat that I was coming).
- Medicines provided on the spot, with explanations for each box to remind you of the dosage.
Disadvantages:
- Blood pressure check and first questions in the entrance hall (medical confidentiality is generally less respected in China).
- High prices: 1400 RMB for an urgent consultation in the evening; otherwise 800–1200 RMB during the day, but it is reimbursable if you have insurance (they provide invoices and other documents required).

I traveled from Europe to Shanghai and everything went smoothly, but the next day I began to feel very unwell and developed double vision. I went to the International Medical Center, and from the very beginning, the attention was quick and professional. They saw me immediately and performed four different diagnostic tests to identify the cause of the problem.
The entire staff was extremely kind and competent, and they communicated with me in English at all times, which was very reassuring. I want to especially highlight the nursing team — all the nurses were very warm, attentive, and caring throughout my stay. In particular, Dr. Chen was outstanding: always available, dedicated, and fully committed to my recovery.
Although the costs may seem high, it's important to understand that this is a private hospital that needs resources to maintain such a high standard of care. In my case, the insurance company covered the expenses.
In summary, I received excellent and truly compassionate service. I'm very grateful for the care I received and would absolutely recommend this medical center.

Tourist tip: my wife felt sick and we were looking for an English-speaking hospital. After looking on the internet, we narrowed our choices to two, we chose this one because it was closer to us. We made a good choice. The staff was very professional and all of them spoke English fluently. She got treated immediately and we left with the medicines and a treatment. We were very happy with the way they managed her situation and if you need some ambulatory assistance, this is your choice.
Their webpage is simple, but up to date with all the needed information at hand. We got charged what was explained in their webpage so not awful surprises (it is expensive, but to be honest, we came for holidays and we don't say more than nihao and xiexie). They also work with insurance companies (see webpage) and I'm pretty sure we'll get our money back from her insurance.
Tip: the hospital is located on the 23rd (after clinic hours) and 24th floor (during clinic hours). It is weird, because, there's no general reception at the entrance, just elevators. Just take the elevator to the right floor and the reception is located on each floor.

I was urgently admitted to this hospital on Sunday, 7 November. I’d had a heart attack while I was at the airport waiting for the boarding time for my flight back to Italy. I arrived at the hospital in a truly critical condition; they examined me immediately and spent various hours trying to stabilize me. Then I was admitted to the intensive care unit, and on 16 November they operated on my heart. I need to thank everyone, both for saving my life and for always showing me loving care… especially because I was alone. I will never stop thanking you all.

Very nice hospital with English speaking staff! the director of the urology department was super nice and spoke fluent english! If you are not from China and have any problem in Pudong then go straight there with o hesitation! They provide private medical service from as low as 1200rmb!

If you're foreign and you need a hospital, look no further . This hospital is extremely helpful with English speaking staff and the waits are non existent since it's classed as private medical care.
Initial consultation fee is 1200rmb .
P.s once in the main hall of the hospital , go straight through and turn right to go into the international section
