Asklepios Hospital Barmbek
Gerhard Gebauer
Hysterectomy is performed in the Gynecology Department of Asklepios. Doctors prefer laparoscopic hysterectomies to avoid open incisions and reduce postoperative period.
During the procedure, a woman is under general anesthesia. A special cannula is inserted inside through small incisions. The required part of the organ is removed.
The hysterectomy surgery takes about 1.5-3 hours. Then the catheter is placed to withdraw the urine. It is removed in 2-3 days. The hospitalization period is about 4-5 days.
The uterus removal operation cost depends on the volume of surgical intervention and duration of hospital stay.
