He has a MD from Catholic Medical College, Seoul, and is a member of the Korean Knee Society, Korean Orthopedic Association, Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society, Asia-Pacific Orthopedic Association, and the Korean Sports Medical Association. He has also presented and published on topics such as evaluation of effusion within biceps long head tendon sheath, novel role of Pin1 induction in type II collagen-mediated rheumatoid arthritis, and operative treatment of fracture of the body of the scapula.
