He has provided over 1,000 liver transplants, including 280 pediatric ones, and has written over 70 articles on liver transplantation, pancreatic surgeries, liver and biliary tract tumors. He has obtained degrees in general medicine and surgery, and is a lecturer at the Department of General surgery, Pancreas, Liver and Biliary Tract Surgery. Prof. Baris Akin is a highly esteemed professor of surgery based in Istanbul, Turkey, with a specialization in kidney and pancreas transplantation. He received the 'Young Investigator Award' at the American Transplant Meeting in 2004 and has successfully conducted over 1200 kidney transplantations in Turkey. Prof. Akin has developed a new donor nephrectomy surgical technique and is certified as a transplant surgeon by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.
Halil Erdiş graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and then completed his specialization training in the Department of General Surgery at Pamukkale University Faculty of Medicine in 2007.
