Both fields attracted me already at the high school. My enthusiasm also lasted during my studies at the 1st Faculty of Medicine at the Charles University. After graduating from the university, I joined the Institute of Endocrinology in Prague. At the same time I trained at the Third Internal Clinic of the General University Hospital in Prague. Both institutions are highly specialized centres with a wide range of diagnoses. I had the best teachers. I very much appreciate the two foreign experiences, the internship at the University Clinic in Düsseldorf and at the St. Barts Clinic in London. In 2013, I defended my Ph.D. and after a short maternity break, I successfully passed the attestation in 2015.

Work is also my hobby. I follow the latest trends and participate in both domestic and foreign congresses and seminars.

I assess clients individually, I rely on a calm and friendly approach, a thorough case history, the search for connections and a comprehensive view.

In endocrinology, I monitor the state of hormones (chemical messengers) that are produced by the endocrine glands and circulate in the blood to regulate a large number of bodily functions. Assist. Prof. Dr. Faruk Cavdar is a general surgeon with expertise in obesity and metabolic surgery. He also treats liver, biliary tract, and pancreatic diseases and tumors. Dr. Cavdar is skilled in creating arteriovenous (AV) fistulas and placing indwelling catheters for hemodialysis patients.

He completed a fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery at Ege University. Dr. Cavdar has published research in international journals. Assoc. Dr. Ali DURMUŞ was born in the Fevzipaşa township of İslahiye, Gaziantep. Because his father worked at Tekel, he started his education at Malatya Derme Primary School and completed it at Adıyaman Atatürk Primary School. When his father was appointed to Amasya Taşova district, he attended secondary school at Taşova Atatürk Secondary School. He finished high school at Gaziantep Kilis High School, ranking 3rd.

Since his uncle was in Çanakkale, he chose Çanakkale Education Institute as a university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. is a teacher. Ali Durmuş was appointed to Yukarı Tutak village in Ağrı's Diyadin district within the scope of compulsory service. After working as a teacher for a period, he took the university exam again.

He was accepted to Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, one of the two medical faculties that taught in English at that time. He completed one year of English preparation and 6 years of medical education without any loss. He was a member of the ski team and basketball team at the university, and also managed social events such as the annual medical ball.

He was assigned to Iskenderun State Hospital in compulsory service. Assoc. Prof. Dr., who served as the emergency manager. Ali Durmuş passed the General Surgery Department of Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital in the Medical Specialization Exam. Assoc. Prof. Dr. completed his specialization and became a specialist. Due to his success in his compulsory service, Ali Durmuş was appointed as assistant chief physician to the Oncology department at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital.

Later, he was appointed as a training officer in the Department of General Surgery and Gastroenterology. He helped develop laparoscopic stomach and intestinal surgeries (sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, reflux, colon cancer, stomach cancer, etc.) in Turkey. Between 2002 and 2015, he trained dozens of assistants and helped them become general surgeons.

In 2015, he left his job in Okmeydanı and worked as Assistant Professor. He started working as a faculty member at Nişantaşı University.

Surgical Experience

After becoming a general surgery specialist in 1996, I served as a General Surgery and Organ Transplantation Specialist at SSK (social insurance institution), for a period of 9 years. In 2005, was granted the title of Associate Professor-General Surgery. Between 2005 and 2012, I established the kidney transplant centers in İzmir Private Kent Hospital, Istanbul Private Gaziosmanpasa Hospital, and Medicalpark Goztepe Hospital respectively, and served as the chief executive of these centers.

I have worked in İzmir Private Kent Hospital since 2013. I established Obesity Clinic at Gazi Hospital, and performed more than 200 gastric reduction operations.

Social Responsibility

I have worked in the management boards of many associations engaging in scientific and social activities, and served as a founding member in some of them.

The most important one of these is that I have served as a coordinator in the project intended for providing 150.000 elementary school students and 5,000 adults with training on organ donation, for a period of 10 years, through various social activities.1
