Dr. Mahdi Rezai is an acclaimed breast specialist in Germany, honored with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. He is the founder of the West German Study Group Breast Cancer and has treated over 21,000 breast cancer patients. He provides public awareness campaigns and founded the Düsseldorf Breast Cancer Conference. In addition, he has founded the Rezai Foundation-Medical Aid for Herat/Afghanistan. He is a member of several organizations such as the European Institute of Oncology, the European School of Oncology, and the Asian Society of Mastology.

Dr. Ulrich Theodor Hopt is a Professor of Surgery and a specialist in pancretic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, pancreatic/islet cell transplantation, ischemia-reperfusion, and oncological surgery. He was the Director of the General and Visceral Surgery Department of the Surgical University Clinic Freiburg from 2001 to 2016, and has received numerous honors, including the 1984 Ludwig Rehn Award, the 1995 Exhibition prize of the German Society of Surgery, the 1998 Prof. hc from Capital University Peking, and the 2001 Erich Lexer Prize of the German Society of Surgery.
