Dr. Martin Zehetmayer is an experienced ophthalmic surgeon. He earned his doctorate from the University of Vienna and holds specialist accreditation in ophthalmology and optometry. Since 1999, he has served as Senior Physician and Head of the Eye Clinic. He has led progress in eye tumor treatment, especially using stereotactic radiation therapy for malignant choroid tumors.

Dr. Zehetmayer has published about 100 scientific papers. Dr. Georgopoulos is recognized for introducing seamless 23-gauge transconjunctival vitrectomy. He also pioneered additive anti-VEGF therapy and the use of high-resolution 3D optical coherence tomography (HR-OCT) for pre- and postoperative assessment. He leads clinical research on postoperative cortisone therapy, comparison of surgical techniques, drug therapy for the vitreous body, and cytokine analysis in retinal diseases.
