Stereotactic radiosurgery: high-effective and fast treatment of prostate cancer

At Teknon Medical Center, stereotactic radiosurgery is performed by TrueBeam® Radiotherapy System. It is a highly precise radiation therapy that targets tumors with a millimeter accuracy, not affecting healthy tissue. This method provides the maximum therapeutic effect with a minimum number of irradiation sessions.

• Safe: the urethra and intestines are not affected due to a minimal irradiation dose and reduced number of sessions

High accuracy of stereotactic radiosurgery is achieved with CalypsoR navigation that calibrates TrueBeam. 

CalypsoR consists of two elements:

1. A set of mini GPS trackers: a doctor installs it in the prostate gland before therapy. The tracker is smaller than a grape seed.
2. The GPS signal processor: transmits information about the prostate position to the TrueBeam in real-time, so irradiation goes directly to a tumor.

Diagnosis cost

The MRI, scintigraphy and laboratory test results will be ready in 2 days.

2. When a tumor is out of the capsule, and there is a risk of metastasis in the pelvic region.
