The Allurion balloon is a swallowable capsule. You take it under doctor supervision in the clinic. The capsule dissolves in your stomach and releases a balloon filled with liquid. This balloon takes up space in your stomach. You feel fuller faster and eat less.
The procedure takes about 15 minutes. No incisions are needed. No anesthesia is used. Most patients return to normal activities immediately. The balloon stays in your stomach for 14 to 16 weeks. It then deflates naturally and passes through your digestive system. No removal procedure is required.
