What is Hip Replacement Surgery?

šŸŸ¢ Hip replacement surgeryreplaces a damaged hip joint with an artificial one made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. It relieves pain, restores mobility, and improves the quality of life for people with arthritis, injuries, or chronic hip pain.

Who needs it?

  • Patients with severe arthritis. Conditions like osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Hip injury sufferers. When damage limits movement or causes lasting pain.

  • People with chronic pain. If other treatments don't work.

  • Older adults. Commonly due to wear and tear over time.

How does it work?

The damaged ball-and-socket joint is removed and replaced with a smooth, durable artificial joint.Ā

āœ… Benefits include:

  • Pain relief. Reduced or no hip pain.

  • Better mobility. Everyday activities become easier.

  • Stability. Reduces the risk of dislocation.

  • Durability. Lasts 15ā€“20 years or more.

  • Improved life. Regain independence and enjoy daily activities.

Is it really effective?

Hip replacement surgery is highly reliable, with a 90ā€“100% success rate in the first five years and a 62ā€“98% success rate after ten years. It's a trusted solution for long-term mobility and pain relief.

Is Hip Replacement Surgery Worth It Overseas?

Having hip replacement surgery abroad is an excellent decision for many patients. Hereā€™s why:

šŸ“ŒSignificant cost savings. Surgery in countries like Belarus ($4,200ā€“$6,300) or Poland ($6,800ā€“$8,900) can save up to 75ā€“85% compared to US prices ($28,200ā€“$40,000).

šŸ“ŒHigh-quality care. International hospitals are JCI-accredited and ISO-certified, ensuring global healthcare standards.

šŸ“ŒComprehensive packages. All-inclusive packages often include consultations, surgery, comprehensive post-operative care, accommodations, and transfers, reducing stress and logistical planning.

šŸ“ŒShorter wait time. Private clinics abroad can schedule surgery in a matter of weeks, compared to months or even years, in some countries like the UK or Canada.

šŸ“ŒTravel and recovery. Recuperating in destinations with favorable climates, such as Turkey or Thailand, can enhance recovery and provide a more pleasant experience.

My fatherā€™s medical experience with Memorial Şişli was great. Everything was well-organized, and we felt supported throughout the entire process. The doctor was professional, knowledgeable, and patient in explaining every detail, which reassured us that my father was in good hands. I was also really impressed by how quickly everything was arranged. There were no unnecessary delays, and the entire medical service was coordinated seamlessly. Our online medical coordinator was always available whenever we had questions, making the whole process much easier. Having a interpreter readily available was a huge help as wellā€”they were efficient and made communication effortless. The hospital was spotless, and cleanliness was clearly a top priority, which gave us even more peace of mind. Overall, we were very happy with the care my father received. The professionalism and efficiency of the entire team made a real difference, and I would highly recommend the hospital to anyone seeking quality medical care abroad.

The only negative is that it is a general regional hospital and there is no separate building for foreign patients and because of this there is not enough necessary rest for patients after surgery. Nursing service is good, girls try, they always come to the rescue. The attending physician is also good, the only thing was the lack of translation, the translator apparently did not have enough time for all patients, he tried, but it was due to lack of time that he was not always able to get an answer to the question during time and there were times when it was not medical information in connection with the postoperative condition. The food was of average quality. A solid five for the transfer, well-received, brought back.

My medical team with carlos leading, was great. I couldn't ask for any better. From start to finish, he was always available. He speaks perfect English. He checked on me daily. The price quotes did not change. Dr aylana is very knowledgeable in his field. In the consultation he asked me what my expectations were. He didn't try to talk me into any procedures I didn't need. He was honest about what he could do. Having medical procedures abroad is different from the US. It is still safe for fraction of the price.
