San Donato Hospital: Patients Reviews and Experience

We successfully operated on our daughter Nika Popova at the San Donato clinic (Italy). Thank you so much for the Bookimed service for the excellent organization of the trip. Our manager Aleksey Karaganov was always in touch and helped with all issues (visas, booking, medical and legal issues). The clinic, staff, ward are all at the highest level and the main thing is that real masters of their craft work there. Our attending physicians were delighted with the results of the most complicated heart surgery, the Ross operation. It is unfortunate that politics affects not only ordinary citizens, but also their children. We had an online consultation with Dr. Carlo de Vincentiis, through a female translator. The translator translated everything word for word, there were no barriers in communicating with the doctor. Before the consultation, a CT scan and ultrasound were sent to the clinic in advance. After studying the materials, Dr. Carlo de Vincentiis explained everything clearly and in detail. He told me how to live further, what to do... My only regret is that I did not go to this clinic earlier. After all, if we had contacted earlier, we could have lived these two years completely differently - fearing for life and health. It was full of information consultation and Dr Francesco Maisano was very generous in providing us with multiple solutions for my father's case with mentioning the best solution among them and why it was the best solution. So, he was very knowledgeable, very genius and expertise. I strongly recommend this service. One issue was that the bookimed was helpful, very fast in replying but the files I sent to them to share it with Dr Francesco Maisano, they didn't share it all, but it was fixed shortly. It was excellent

The person who was given the appointment was given the wrong one and I traveled 5 hours because of this mistake and paid 157 euros and I was not examined medically because the appointment was given the wrong one and they told me that I should have 5 more days to request a refund I actually made the request and I haven't received the money back yet. It was a very bad experience and I hope it doesn't happen again.

I'll tell you how it all happened, maybe it will help someone make their choice. I'll start with the fact that I was looking for a clinic for a long time to treat my son both in Europe and in Russia. The son is 5 years old, it was necessary to carry out a radical operation on the aortic valve, plastic or Rosa operation. The second is very difficult to perform, so it was important to find a surgeon with extensive experience. Alessandro Frigiola has a lot of experience. In Moscow, there are generally few reviews about Italian medicine, but after visiting here I can safely recommend this doctor, operations are performed here every day, everything is thought out to the smallest detail and you do not care, as in Moscow, for example, what equipment or conditions for treatment are lacking. I liked the San Donato clinic itself, despite the fact that almost no one speaks Russian, language barriers almost did not interfere, the staff are caring, they treat children with love. The atmosphere is pleasant here. Special thanks to the staff of international treatment organizations, the department may not write correctly, but I think it's clear. For all questions 24/7, you can contact them, Olga Gribova helped organize everything for a whole year. An excellent translator, Mariana, who also helps to communicate with doctors in the clinic and is constantly in touch if any problems arise. For all questions, even those that did not concern treatment, the girls always responded very responsively and helped. Thanks to them, the trip turned out to be much easier morally and with less worries. I was allowed to visit my son in intensive care. He stayed there for 2 days, and could have stayed less, but there were delays due to a smear on the covid, so they decided to keep him there, because the operation was difficult. Accommodation here is separate from the hospital, but Olga also helped with this issue. Everything was organized very quickly, there is no red tape with documents, as, for example, in Germany. As for the ward itself, in principle, everything is like everywhere else, I have no particular complaints.

The general impression of the clinic is pleasantly surprising. I personally visited an endocrinologist and helped me solve my problem, I also turned to a pediatric therapist and vaccinated my child, the translator helped me a lot while I was in the clinic, and I communicated with the doctor very well thanks to her.
