Prof. Dr. Florian Fitzal is Head of Breast Reconstruction at Hanusch Hospital in Vienna and runs a private practice in Vienna's 18th district. He specializes in breast cancer surgery, focusing on breast-conserving surgery, oncoplasty, mastectomy, breast reconstruction, anti-hormone therapy, palliative care, and follow-up. He also performs abdominal surgery, including hernia and gallbladder operations.
Previously Head of Breast Surgery at Vienna General Hospital (AKH) and the Breast Center in Linz, Prof. Dr. Fitzal is a University Professor at the Medical University of Vienna and holds an MBA in Public Health. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery in Oncological Surgery and an active member of the European Society of Medical Oncology, European Society of Surgical Oncology, and the Austrian Breast and Colorectal Cancer Study Group. He has published over 143 scientific papers and written 4 books on breast cancer surgery.
