My experience has been very bad with Dr. Ayala… He only spoke with me for about 10 minutes before my surgery and afterwards was very reluctant to answer any questions when I said I was not happy with the outcome of my neck and ears. He said I could come back in a couple of months to have it fixed. When I came back. I decided to do liposuction on my abdominal area at the same time again the same thing no follow up as far as what I should be doing or wearing or anything… Again, one of my ears was not corrected and looked actually worse than before. When I came back to get my stitches out I pointed that out and he said that was normal and I argued saying that my other ear came out fine and this year looked bad. He said he couldn’t do anything else except wait for another couple of months and have me come back again. At this point, I showed him my liposuction, which looked bad as well with a lot of fibrosis happening… He gave no recommendation except to have ultrasound treatment done. I went online and discovered I should be wearing compression garments as well as getting massage for lymphatic fluid, which was building up. Once I went to the masseuse, she informed me of all the things I needed to be doing, but this is also cost me an extra thousand dollars. The whole experience was very disappointing and now I need to go to another surgeon to get one of my ears fixed hopefully for the last time But this all started Jan 3 and we are now into May and I’m still not out of the woods! I actually liked the personalities of everybody that I worked with, but I cannot in good conscience. Recommend them to anyone else because I know they will be very disappointed!

I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

Terrible surgeon. Will not take the time to speak with you, when he does he knows limited English and is very very rushed. The first time me he gave me results that were so drastic I looked like a pig or someone from who-ville. I had to pay for a second surgery for him to give me my old nose but even worse! (Again super rushed, had zero time to make a decision). Absolutely awful experience. Scary. He refused to even try to fix my nose now for another 6 months. Even though I offered to pay again. Have to date and see friends humiliated with a half finished face. Go to someone with talent and who actually cares. He doesn’t. You are just a number to the surgeons there.

FAQ about Asian Rhinoplasty in Mexico

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What are the benefits of choosing Mexico for my Asian Rhinoplasty compared to other countries?

Mexico offers cost-effective surgery options without compromising quality due to its skilled surgeons trained internationally. The proximity to the U.S., along with shorter travel times and cultural familiarity, makes it an attractive choice for many patients seeking cosmetic enhancements.

How can I prepare emotionally for traveling abroad for surgery, especially if I'm going alone?

Research thoroughly about the procedure and destination to ease anxiety. Consider joining online forums or support groups where past patients share experiences; this can provide reassurance and practical tips for solo travelers.

What should I do if I experience complications after returning home from surgery in Mexico?

If complications arise, contact your Mexican surgeon immediately for advice and potential solutions. Additionally, consult a local healthcare provider who can assess your condition and provide necessary treatment based on your surgical history.

How do I manage follow-up care once I'm back in my home country?

Arrange virtual follow-up consultations with your Mexican surgeon or seek a local specialist familiar with your procedure for ongoing care. Ensure you have access to your medical records for any necessary interventions or adjustments.

What kind of post-operative care will I receive before returning home?

Post-operative care typically includes follow-up appointments to monitor healing, instructions on wound care, and guidance on managing swelling and discomfort. Some clinics may offer virtual consultations for continued support once you return home.

How do I ensure that the medical facility in Mexico meets international safety standards?

Verify that the facility is accredited by international bodies such as the Joint Commission International (JCI). Accreditation ensures adherence to stringent safety protocols and quality care standards.

Are there any hidden costs involved in getting Asian Rhinoplasty in Mexico?

While most clinics provide transparent pricing, it's essential to inquire about all potential costs upfront, including anesthesia fees, medication, and any additional procedures like septoplasty. Ensure you receive a detailed breakdown to avoid unexpected expenses.

What is the typical recovery time for Asian Rhinoplasty, and how should I plan my travel back home?

The recovery time for Asian Rhinoplasty is typically 1 to 2 weeks for initial healing, with swelling subsiding over several months. Plan to stay in Mexico for at least 7 to 10 days post-surgery for follow-up appointments before traveling back home.

Is there a language barrier that might affect communication with my medical team?

Many surgeons and medical staff in Mexico speak fluent English, especially those catering to international patients. However, it's advisable to confirm language proficiency during initial consultations to ensure clear communication throughout your care.

How can I verify the qualifications and experience of a surgeon in Mexico?

To verify a surgeon's qualifications, check if they are certified by reputable organizations such as the ISAPS or the Mexican Association of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (AMCPER). Additionally, review their educational background, years of experience, and patient testimonials.

Will the surgeons in Mexico understand the specific needs of Asian Rhinoplasty?

Many Mexican surgeons have extensive training and experience in performing Asian Rhinoplasty, often having trained internationally. They understand the unique anatomical differences and aesthetic preferences involved, ensuring tailored results for each patient.

What are the potential risks and complications of undergoing Asian Rhinoplasty in Mexico?

Asian Rhinoplasty in Mexico carries similar risks to those in other countries, including infection, bleeding, and scarring. Additionally, there is a risk of dissatisfaction with cosmetic results or nasal asymmetry. It's crucial to choose a board-certified surgeon to minimize these risks.
