I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue
I had a really great experience with my doctor and care here. I wanted a very natural looking nose, not to look "doll-like" or like I had a rhinoplasty. Same for lip filler. I felt like both were done taking exactly what I wanted into account and the overall symmetry at the end for my nostrils was excellent - my nose had been broken and before surgery lack of symmetry was a big issue. I believe it required different degrees of cutting for each nostril so I'm very impressed that the end result's symmetry appears less than 1mm different from one another, that's a huge improvement from before. The shape is really nice and I was impressed that after surgery the packing was done in such a way that I was able to breathe through my nose the whole time, even during my recovery.

Terrible surgeon. Will not take the time to speak with you, when he does he knows limited English and is very very rushed. The first time me he gave me results that were so drastic I looked like a pig or someone from who-ville. I had to pay for a second surgery for him to give me my old nose but even worse! (Again super rushed, had zero time to make a decision). Absolutely awful experience. Scary. He refused to even try to fix my nose now for another 6 months. Even though I offered to pay again. Have to date and see friends humiliated with a half finished face. Go to someone with talent and who actually cares. He doesn’t. You are just a number to the surgeons there.

I am 3 months post op and I have zero regrets
The experience I had with Dr Marroquin far exceed my expectations. I am an American living in Miami, FL. I inquired with surgeons locally before deciding to travel abroad for my deep plane face and neck lift with blepharoplasty. After extensive research I found Dr Marroquin, I read through all the patient testimonials I could find and looked at all his before and after photos. I reached out to him via Bookimed. At first I thought I was being scammed, the people at Bookimed did not speak very good english, I could tell I was communicating with a non native english or spanish speaker. The communications came in at weird hours of the day. After a few back and forth, I said I would not proceed any further without speaking with someone from Dr Marroquins office. That same day someone claiming to be Dr Marroquin contacted me on Whatsapp. I thought for sure it was a scam, so at first I ignored him. In Miami you would have to be dying in order for the surgeon to speak with you directly. I told him I was feeling uneasy and he suggested we set up a video call for later that day, I thought there is no way its going to be him on the phone, and sure enough it was him! He took his personal time on a Sunday to call me. We spoke for almost an hour, and at the end of that call I was 100% sure this was my doctor. He is so down to earth and approachable, he made me feel so at ease. I let him know the next day I wanted to proceed with the surgery, from that point on I only communicated with him. He helped me to schedule the surgery, my preop appointments and made recommendations for recovery houses. In less than a month I arrived in Guadalajara, he met with me the next day and we discussed the surgery in length. At that point I decided to add a lip lift to the procedure. I passed all my preop and had my surgery on August 26th. Dr Marroquin was amazing the day of surgery, he spoke to me in english (which he speaks very well), he made sure I understood every step of the process. Everything went very well, I spent the next 10 days in Mexico recovering at a recovery house. I spoke with Dr Marroquin every day while I was there. I had zero complications and flew home after 10 days to continue my recovery at home. I am 3 months post op and I have zero regrets. I speak with Dr Marroquin every few weeks and keep him updated on my progress with photos. If you are considering this surgery, I 100% recommend having a consultation with Dr Marroquin, he is an amazing doctor and human being.
I liked how personal the service was, I really got to know my doctor and felt 100% at ease with him.
I wish I would have waited for the recovery house I wanted to use to have availability. They were booked up so I decided to use another one that was not as highly rated. It was not a bad experience, but it could have been better.

Their staff was very accommodating and thoughtful - everyone was super nice and considerate, especially Sara and Maria
First off, I used Aura Wellness Center, instead of Alice Beauty Clinic. And, their staff was very accommodating and thoughtful - everyone was super nice and considerate, especially Sara and Maria. Sara was the best English speaker there and helped me with everything. Maria was kind, warm, and also a great English speaker. They made it less lonely since I had this journey alone. Through Bookimed, I was assisted by Confidence, she was super thoughtful and checked up on me. She made sure I had connections with my medical coordinator and doctor. My coordinator was named Carlos. He was kind, answering all my questions and even texted me after my surgery numerous time to ensure I was recovering and satisfied with my results. My doctor was Dr. Ayala. I can't say much about him since he was in and out of the surgery room. I met him briefly. And, I'm unsure of my results as I am only one month post-op.
The staff at the clinic was accommodating. The coordinator from Bookimed and from the doctor ensured my questions were answered.
Dr. Ayala's brevity and lack of check up after the surgery. I didn't meet him more than 15 (when I was conscious since I was under anesthesia when he operated on me).

The hospital advertised was not the one I went to. The operating room was thrown together i my opinion. Hardly anyone spoke English so I had a difficult time with the forms. I didn't even get a copy. After the surgery I was left on my back overnight night and was told I'll be ok. Once finally discharged the next morning, I only received antibiotics and ibuprofen. No instructions on how and what to do afterwards. I felt like they did what they was supposed to and dropped me off in the streets to fend for myself
How close it was from my home
The facility, language barrier and no instructions

The surgeon was good but the coordinator Carlo made too many mistakes. 1. Didn’t book continuous days at hotel. 2. As a result, I was kicked out of room the day I was in surgery. . 2. Need more after care days to remove drainage. I was abruptly kicked out of TJ while I was still feeling weak. Needed more days in Tijuana. At least 2 more. Return to America and no one wanted to remove drainage tubes. 3. The day nurse talked bad about me to everyone. The night nurse , Paulina was perfect. I would never recommend surgery in Mexico. No need to go viral with this because all of USA know this. Mexican are much better at picking fruits!

FAQ about Wide Nose Rhinoplasty in Mexico

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What follow-up care is available after surgery, and how is it managed from abroad?

Follow-up care typically includes scheduled appointments at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months post-surgery, which can be conducted virtually via video calls for international patients. Many clinics provide detailed aftercare instructions and remain available for consultation as needed. Ensure you have access to local healthcare support if required.

How do I ensure that the results of my nose job will meet my expectations?

To ensure satisfactory results, have a thorough consultation with your surgeon discussing your goals and reviewing before-and-after photos of previous patients. A skilled surgeon will use computer imaging technology to simulate potential outcomes based on your facial structure. Clear communication about realistic expectations is key.

What are the travel and accommodation arrangements required for undergoing nose narrowing procedure in a Mexican clinic?

Patients should arrange travel accommodations close to their chosen clinic for convenience during pre- and post-surgery visits. While some clinics offer assistance with hotel bookings, these costs are generally not included in the surgery package. Ensure you have reliable transportation arranged for appointments during your stay.

Will my health insurance cover any part of the procedure or potential complications?

Most health insurance plans do not cover elective cosmetic procedures performed abroad, including rhinoplasty in Mexico. However, some plans may cover complications arising from surgery if specified under medical tourism coverage. It's essential to check with your insurance provider before scheduling the procedure.

Can I trust the hygiene and safety standards of Mexican clinics offering wide nose surgery?

Many clinics in Mexico adhere to international hygiene and safety standards and are accredited by organizations like JCI. Researching clinic reviews and ensuring they follow protocols similar to those in your home country can provide peace of mind. Visiting the clinic beforehand can also help assess its cleanliness and safety measures.

What if I experience complications after returning home from my surgery abroad?

If you experience complications after returning home, contact your Mexican surgeon immediately for guidance. Many clinics offer remote follow-up services to address any issues. It's also advisable to seek assistance from a local healthcare provider familiar with your procedure.

How will I manage post-operative care once I return home from Mexico?

Post-operative care can be managed through virtual consultations with your surgeon via video calls. It's crucial to follow all aftercare instructions provided by your surgeon and schedule regular check-ups with a local healthcare provider if necessary. Ensure you have access to prescribed medications and support for any complications that may arise.

Are there any hidden costs associated with having surgery abroad that I should be aware of?

While many clinics offer competitive pricing, patients should inquire about additional costs such as anesthesia fees, medication, and follow-up appointments. It's important to get a detailed quote upfront to avoid unexpected expenses. Travel and accommodation are typically not included in the surgery package.

What is the expected recovery time for wide-nose reshaping, and how will it affect my travel plans?

The recovery time for Wide Nose Rhinoplasty typically lasts 1 to 2 weeks for initial healing, but complete recovery can take up to 6 months. Patients are advised to stay in Mexico for at least one week post-surgery for follow-up appointments before traveling home. Plan your travel accordingly to accommodate this recovery period.

Is there a language barrier when communicating with medical staff?

Many medical staff in Mexico speak English fluently, especially in clinics that cater to international patients. However, it is advisable to confirm language proficiency during initial consultations to ensure clear communication. Some clinics also offer translation services for non-English speaking patients.

How can I verify the qualifications and experience of surgeons in Mexican clinics?

Verify a surgeon's qualifications by checking their certification with reputable organizations such as ISAPS or the Mexican Association of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery (AMCPER). Additionally, review their education background, years of experience, and patient testimonials. Many qualified surgeons will have international training or affiliations.

What are the potential risks of having nasal width reduction procedure?

Potential risks of Wide Nose Rhinoplasty in Mexico include infection, bleeding, asymmetry, and dissatisfaction with cosmetic results. Choosing a board-certified surgeon can mitigate these risks, but it's essential to follow all pre- and post-operative instructions. Always discuss potential complications with your surgeon before the procedure.
