I'm very happy with the results I'm seeing so far and anticipate being even happier as the swelling goes down and my new figure fully reveals itself
Dr Ana was very sweet and helpful as was her daughter Louise. Despite the language barrier they were able to communicate to me what the procedure was going to be in terms of medical tests on surgery day. The anesthetist was wonderful and easy to communicate with. The nurses who tended to me post procedure were very kind, but there was definitely a language barrier. I had hoped to be able to use my phones translator, but did not anticipate how difficult it would be for me to move after the procedure often times I would not be able to reach my phone. Once I arrived there, there were some nominal unanticipated additional costs that I was not made aware of. Specifically, $200 a night to sleep another night in the clinic when I was too swollen and sore to move and wasn't going to be able to get on a plane just yet. I stayed in a nice hotel the night before the procedure and paid only $77 for that accommodation. It would be different if they had been bringing me juice and water frequently or otherwise caring for me, but I often found myself dehydrated and lacking cold water. I appreciate that they brought me food, but all of the food that they brought me was so dry that I could not eat it because my mouth was already so dry. They were very sweet to go and get me and ice cream when I asked for a popsicle. Otherwise you got whatever they gave you, whenever they decided to give it to you. The rest of the time I was just left alone in my room, which was fine because I really was not able to move. There are times and it would have been helpful to have someone nearby to hand me lip balm from my bag, but generally I was left by myself. I am 2 weeks out from my procedure so I'm still very swollen, St iff and sore, but I can tell that the surgeon did an excellent job with my procedure. I'm very happy with the results I'm seeing so far and anticipate being even happier as the swelling goes down and my new figure fully reveals itself. This is not the same kind of experience as having cosmetic surgery in the states. There's very little consultation/ pre-op care other than the scheduling. The Aftercare is almost non-existent. I was prepared for that and so I had real significant complaints outside of the lack of pain management offered post procedure.
About Bookimed service
The interface is very easy to use and I was able to get quotes quickly, choose a clinic and book my procedure within a few weeks. I had a very specific time frame that I had already purchased airfare to San Diego for, and the clinic was very accommodating.

I like how fast and easy it was from the start. The surgical facility was small but worked fine. I did not like the post op care. The night nurse was terrible. Her patients were not a priority. Post op care was not made clear. I would have preferred more detailed instructions on after care. I was left guessing about bandages, sprays, medications and scar treatment. Doctor repaired a hernia, of which I was grateful, but would have preferred to have price list in case this occurred so I could have been prepared financially. I felt like price was just made up. So I don't know if I was overcharged. I liked Mexicali as it was a nice quiet clean town. All in all experience was not bad and the price was affordable.

FAQ about Non-Invasive Liposuction in Mexico

What kind of follow-up care is available after the procedure in Mexico?

Follow-up care often includes scheduled virtual consultations post-procedure to monitor healing progress. Clinics may offer guidance on lifestyle adjustments or further treatments if necessary. Ensure you understand the follow-up process before leaving Mexico to maintain continuity of care.

Can I combine my medical trip with a vacation, or should I focus solely on recovery?

While it's possible to combine your medical trip with a vacation, it's important to prioritize recovery based on your surgeon's advice. Non-invasive procedures typically allow for light activities shortly after treatment; however, overexertion should be avoided. Plan leisure activities that accommodate your recovery timeline for optimal results.

How do I ensure that the clinic uses the latest technology and techniques?

To ensure a clinic uses the latest technology and techniques, inquire about their equipment and procedures during initial consultations. Reputable clinics often advertise their use of cutting-edge technology on their websites or promotional materials. Reviews from previous patients can also provide insights into the clinic's practices.

What are the safety standards of clinics offering non-invasive liposuction?

Clinics offering non-invasive liposuction in Mexico often adhere to international safety standards and are accredited by organizations like ISAPS. Verify accreditation and certifications before selecting a clinic. Reputable clinics prioritize patient safety through strict hygiene protocols and advanced technologies.

Will there be a language barrier during consultations and treatments in Mexico?

Many clinics catering to international patients have English-speaking staff or provide translation services to facilitate communication. It's advisable to confirm language support availability when booking your procedure. Clear communication is crucial for understanding treatment plans and post-care instructions.

What if I experience complications after returning home?

If complications arise after returning from Mexico, contact your surgeon immediately for advice and possible virtual consultation. Having a local healthcare provider familiar with your procedure can also be beneficial for addressing any issues promptly. Ensure you have all necessary documentation and contact information before leaving Mexico.

How do I handle post-procedure care once I return home?

Post-procedure care involves following the guidelines provided by your surgeon, such as avoiding strenuous activities and maintaining hydration. Many clinics offer virtual follow-up consultations to monitor your progress after returning home. Ensure you have access to a local healthcare provider in case of any concerns.

Are there any hidden costs associated with traveling to Mexico for this procedure?

While the procedure cost might be lower in Mexico, additional expenses such as travel, accommodation, and meals should be considered. Some packages include hotel stays but not transfers. Always confirm what is included in your package to avoid unexpected costs.

What is the recovery process like, and how long will it take before I can resume normal activities?

Recovery from non-invasive liposuction is typically quick, with most patients returning to normal activities within 1-2 days. Mild swelling or redness may occur but usually subsides within a few hours to days. It's advised to follow post-procedure instructions provided by your healthcare provider for optimal results.

Is the quality of care in Mexico comparable to that in my home country?

The quality of care in Mexico can be comparable to that in your home country, especially at accredited facilities with international certifications. Many clinics follow global standards and employ highly trained professionals. Researching and selecting a reputable clinic is essential for ensuring high-quality care.

How can I verify the qualifications and experience of the surgeons?

To verify the qualifications of surgeons in Mexico, ensure they are certified by recognized organizations such as the ISAPS. Check for their training background, years of experience, and reviews from previous patients. Many reputable clinics provide detailed profiles of their medical staff on their websites.

What are the potential health risks of undergoing non-surgical fat reduction?

Non-invasive liposuction in Mexico carries minimal risks compared to traditional liposuction, as it doesn't require anesthesia or incisions.
