I am delighted that the scars are well hidden and now they are fading away
Dr has a lot of experience in breast implants, he removed my old implants together with capsulatomy and replaced them with new implants with very little scarring. I had waited two weeks to give a proper analysis of his work,, and am delighted that the scars are well hidden and now they are fading away.
Dr has many years of experience in doing implants and he had to remove my old implants and a capsulectomy procedure and putting in new implants with little scarring.

the surgeon is very skilled and his stitches are wonderful
The whole process from initial consult to surgery and follow up after care were good. I was very happy the care received from the admin staff and the surgical team. The nurses were so gentle. the surgeon is very skilled and his stitches are wonderful. I would be so happy to undergo further procedures at this clinic. The hotel was also great.
The outcome was great and my surgeries were separated into two - and the bleph was done under local for increased safety and to reduce time under general anesthetic - which is good.
Everything was good no negative feedback

FAQ about Cheiloplasty in Thailand

These FAQs come from real patients seeking medical assistance through Bookimed. Answers are given by experienced medical coordinators and trusted clinic representatives.

What should I do if I experience complications after returning home from my Cheiloplasty procedure in Thailand?

If complications arise after returning home, contact your Thai surgeon immediately through their provided communication channels for guidance. Additionally, seek prompt evaluation from a local healthcare provider familiar with post-surgical care. Keeping detailed records of your surgery will assist both parties in managing any issues effectively.

Are there any cultural differences in healthcare practices that I should be aware of when getting surgery in Thailand?

Thailand's healthcare system often emphasizes holistic approaches alongside conventional medicine, which might include herbal remedies or traditional massages as part of recovery recommendations. Respecting local customs and understanding these complementary practices can enhance your overall experience.

How do I manage pain and discomfort during the recovery period while staying in Thailand?

Pain management typically involves prescribed medications such as analgesics or anti-inflammatories provided by your surgeon. Adhering strictly to post-operative instructions will aid in minimizing discomfort. Ensure you have access to necessary medications before leaving the clinic after surgery.

What are the financial implications of having Cheiloplasty in Thailand, including travel and accommodation costs?

The cost of Cheiloplasty in Thailand is generally lower than in Western countries, but you should factor in travel expenses and accommodation fees. Budgeting $2,000-$5,000 USD can cover surgery costs, flights, and a comfortable stay. It's wise to compare packages offered by different clinics that might include accommodation or airport transfers.

Is it safe to travel alone for Cheiloplasty surgery in Thailand, or should I bring a companion?

While it is possible to travel alone for Cheiloplasty, having a companion can be beneficial for support during recovery and assistance with daily activities immediately post-surgery. If traveling solo, arrange for reliable transportation and accommodation close to the clinic for convenience.

What are the options for follow-up consultations after Cheiloplasty if I live outside of Thailand?

Many Thai clinics offer virtual follow-up consultations via video calls or emails to monitor your recovery process once you return home. This ensures continuity of care and allows you to address any concerns directly with your surgeon. Scheduling these sessions ahead of time can help maintain consistent communication.

How do I handle post-operative care once I return home from Thailand?

Upon returning home, follow the post-operative care instructions given by your surgeon, which may include wound care and medication management. Regularly update your Thai surgeon on your progress through virtual check-ins if offered. It's also advisable to have a local healthcare provider available for any immediate concerns.

Are there any specific pre-operative tests or consultations required before traveling to Thailand for Cheiloplasty?

Pre-operative tests typically include blood work and a physical examination to ensure you're fit for surgery. Clinics may offer virtual consultations prior to travel to discuss your medical history and expectations. It's important to follow all pre-surgery instructions provided by your chosen clinic.

What is the typical recovery time for Cheiloplasty, and how should I plan my stay in Thailand accordingly?

The recovery time for Cheiloplasty usually spans 1 to 2 weeks, with initial swelling and discomfort subsiding within the first few days. Plan to stay in Thailand for at least one week post-surgery for follow-up appointments and immediate care. Ensure your travel itinerary allows for adequate rest and healing before returning home.

Will there be a language barrier when communicating with medical staff in Thailand?

Many medical professionals in Thailand are proficient in English, especially in facilities catering to international patients. However, it's beneficial to confirm language capabilities during initial consultations. Some hospitals also provide interpreters to facilitate clear communication.

How can I ensure the surgeon in Thailand is qualified and experienced in Cheiloplasty procedures?

Verify that the surgeon is certified by reputable organizations such as the ISAPS or has training from recognized institutions. Look for surgeons with extensive experience in Cheiloplasty, evidenced by patient reviews and before-and-after photos. It's also advisable to have a consultation to assess their expertise and communication skills.

What are the potential risks and complications of undergoing Cheiloplasty in Thailand?

Cheiloplasty, like any surgical procedure, carries risks such as infection, bleeding, scarring, and asymmetry. In Thailand, clinics often adhere to international standards to minimize these risks, but it's crucial to discuss potential complications with your surgeon beforehand. Choosing a board-certified surgeon can further reduce the likelihood of adverse outcomes.
