"The result was on the second day, everything is fine
Hello everyone, I am 49 years old. I had a dysport injection procedure in the outer corners of my eyes. The task is to remove the "crow's feet". Having written to the clinic, I quickly received an answer, they gave me the contacts of the coordinating interpreter and set a date. Everything is fine: the price is negotiated in advance in dollars, but you can pay in lira. The main thing is to pay at the checkout to get a check. The average price in Turkish clinics for 1 ml is $180-200. I had 150$. The only thing that confused me was that the doctor did not show me the drug that was going to be injected. Usually they show the authenticity of the package, show the expiration date, open it in front of you and then make injections. It's like this here: she lay down on the couch, the doctor's assistant gave him a syringe - a few injections, and is free. The result was on the second day, everything is fine. The first photo is “before”, the second is after, seven days have passed.

FAQ about Lip Flip in Turkey

What are the risks of getting cosmetic procedures like Lip Flip done overseas?

The primary risks include potential communication barriers, differences in medical standards, and challenges in accessing follow-up care once back home. Ensuring the clinic's accreditation by international bodies like JCI can mitigate some risks. Thoroughly researching the facility and surgeon's credentials is crucial before proceeding with treatment abroad.

Will my health insurance cover any part of the Lip Flip procedure done abroad?

Most health insurance plans do not cover elective cosmetic procedures performed abroad, including Lip Flips. It's essential to verify coverage details with your insurance provider before traveling. Consider purchasing travel insurance that includes medical coverage specific to international cosmetic procedures.

How do I handle post-procedure care while traveling back from Turkey?

Post-procedure care involves avoiding strenuous activities and excessive sun exposure for several days after a Lip Flip. Keep hydrated and use cold compresses if needed to reduce swelling during travel. Ensure you have contact information for your surgeon in case you have questions or concerns while en route.

What qualifications or certifications should I look for in a surgeon performing Lip Flip in Turkey?

Look for surgeons who are board-certified in plastic surgery and members of reputable organizations such as ISAPS. Verify their experience specifically in non-surgical cosmetic procedures like Botox injections. Reviewing their portfolio of past work can also provide assurance of their expertise.

Are there any specific pre-procedure preparations needed before traveling to Turkey for a Lip Flip?

Before traveling for a Lip Flip, avoid blood-thinning medications like aspirin or ibuprofen for at least one week prior to reduce bruising risk. Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours before the procedure. Consult with your surgeon about any specific health considerations or allergies you may have.

What is the typical recovery time for a Lip Flip, and how should I plan my trip around it?

Recovery from a Lip Flip is quick, with most patients experiencing minimal downtime and resuming normal activities within 24 hours. Plan your trip to allow at least one day of rest post-procedure before engaging in extensive travel or activities. Ensure you have sufficient time for an initial consultation and follow-up if needed.

How long will the results of a Lip Flip last, and will I need follow-up treatments?

The results of a Lip Flip typically last between 2 to 3 months as the effects of Botox gradually wear off. To maintain desired results, follow-up treatments are necessary every few months. Discussing a treatment plan with your surgeon can help schedule timely appointments.

Is it safe to travel shortly after having a Lip Flip procedure in Turkey?

Traveling shortly after a Lip Flip is generally safe since it is a minimally invasive procedure with no significant downtime. However, it's advisable to rest for at least 24 hours post-procedure before flying to reduce swelling and ensure comfort. Always consult with your surgeon about specific travel recommendations based on your health status.

What if I experience complications after returning home from Turkey?

If complications arise after returning home, it's crucial to contact your surgeon immediately for advice. Many clinics offer virtual follow-up consultations to address any issues remotely. It's also recommended to have a local healthcare provider available for emergency situations.

Will there be a language barrier when communicating with the medical staff in Turkey?

Many clinics in Turkey offer language assistance services, including English-speaking medical staff, to facilitate communication. It is advisable to confirm language support availability during your initial consultation. Additionally, some clinics provide translation services to ensure clear understanding throughout the procedure.

How can I ensure the Turkish clinic is reputable and safe?

To ensure safety and reputation, verify that the clinic is accredited by international organizations such as ISAPS or JCI. Research the surgeon's credentials, including their training and experience in cosmetic procedures. Reading patient reviews and testimonials can also provide insight into the quality of care.

What are the potential side effects of getting a Lip Flip in Turkey?

Potential side effects of a Lip Flip include temporary swelling, bruising, and minor discomfort at the injection site. In rare cases, patients might experience drooling or difficulty speaking, which usually resolves within a few days. It's important to follow post-procedure care instructions to minimize these risks.
