I am also immensely grateful to Associate Professor Dolezhal, he directly operated on me and subsequently observed the recovery process
Specialist Aleksey helped me very carefully, personally and for sure. Dad successfully underwent prostatectomy in the Czech Republic. I thank all the people involved in organizing Bookimed !!! Testimonial from patient Sergey: Dear visitors of the site "Bookimed", hello. I want to share my story with you. My name is Sergey, St. Petersburg, I am 65 years old and I have had prostate cancer. 03/19. 19 I got a PSA 6.26 analysis result. (I periodically donated blood for PSA, as there were some problems of a urological nature, besides, I was at risk, my father had prostate cancer) I turned to an oncologist, did an MRI of the pelvis, which showed that I in the left lobe of the gland, a capsule of 20x8 mm, conclusion: PIRADS 5, as bad as possible, as the doctor said. Next, the biopsy that confirmed the cancer, “Acinar Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate,” the total score for Gleason 6. Of course it was a hit! Although I understood that this is quite possible. My relatives helped me a lot: wife, children (I have two sons), wife of the eldest son (I do not like the word daughter-in-law). And then the question, "where to do the operation?" His son was told about the existence of the Bookimed company, which helps people in finding the best treatment option for various diseases around the world. He turned to this company, where he was immediately answered and offered two, the most acceptable options, the Czech Republic or Germany, the operation on the Da Vinci robot. Frankly, I was inclined to have surgery in St. Petersburg (three clinics have Da Vinci robots), but after talking with our doctors and the organizer of the operation at St. Zdislava Hospital in the Czech Republic, Irina Korchminskaya, I came to the conclusion that the operation should be done in Czech Republic !!! About a second, later did not regret it! As soon as I agreed to the operation, (previously I sent the results of the examination), on May 17, I was immediately scheduled for surgery on June 3. They immediately told me that the operation will be done by an assistant professor Dolezhal (experience, more than 2000 operations on prostate cancer on a robot !!!), assisted by Professor Tvaruzhek. All information about the clinic and doctors in the public domain on the website of the hospital of St. Zdislava. This is one of the many reasons why I had surgery there, and not in Russia, I could not get information on the statistics of operations performed by doctors in St. Petersburg. I flew to Prague 05/01/19, I was met at the airport and taken to the hospital, there I was met by the translator Otakar Peshek, speaks excellent Russian. 05/03/19 I had surgery, everything went well. I want to thank the entire staff of the hospital, all the great professionals, have been working in this hospital for many years, starting from nurses. Of course, many thanks to Professor Tvarujek, he is a great professional and a wonderful person! For all my busyness, whenever I had questions, I found time to answer them and give recommendations. I am also immensely grateful to Associate Professor Dolezhal, he directly operated on me and subsequently observed the recovery process. Special thanks to Dr. Khamzin! He did not participate in the operation and was not my attending physician. He graduated from the Leningrad Medical Institute, but for about twenty years he has been living and working in the Czech Republic, he stopped by several times, asked how he was doing and made recommendations for further recovery after being discharged from the hospital (gymnastics, etc.). While in the hospital, I contacted the employees of Bookimed three times. , on issues that have arisen with me and now, two months after the operation, I keep in touch with them, as well as with the St. Zdislava hospital, thank you all very much! Now everything is fine with me, almost completely recovered. 08/01/19 donated blood for PSA, the result is 0.026. I want to tell everyone who is faced with the same problem as mine, do not despair! Cancer, this is just a diagnosis! He can be defeated! You just need to turn to the professionals on time! And in the hospital of St. Zdislava wonderful doctors and nurses work! During my stay in the hospital, people underwent surgery: from Latvia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Mexico, Russia !! While in the hospital, I met one person from Riga, with the same problem as mine. We arrived with him on the same day, we performed operations with him on the same day, and on the same day we headed home. While walking in the surroundings (after the operation you need to walk as much as possible, and the hospital is located in the reserve!), We had the idea to travel across Europe from the hospital of St. Zdislava to the Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela on kickbike scooters under the slogan "we beat cancer!". We want to help people who for the first time encounter the same problem as ours understand that cancer can be defeated! We know how important support and faith are for such people, we have come this way! Perhaps this run will draw someone's attention to the existence of this problem and it will reveal this disease in time! The sooner a person turns to specialists with this problem, the easier it will be to win! If someone has questions, I will try to answer everyone, write Read more less

"We are very grateful to the whole team of the hospital for the high professionalism in work, care and attention shown during the treatment and the rehabilitation period
Among a large number of such services, we made our choice of St. Zdislava Hospital because from the first steps of communication we already felt like patients. They explained to us in every detail and in every detail how to prepare for hospitalization, answered all questions of a medical and domestic nature. Upon arrival, they were met by the attending physician who told about the course of the upcoming operation answered questions. We are very grateful to the whole team of the hospital for the high professionalism in work, care and attention shown during the treatment and the rehabilitation period. "I hope that the illness has left him thanks to all, all the staff of this clinic
Before choosing this clinic, my father and I conducted a study of similar clinics in Germany. And as a result, he went to an operation in the clinic of St. Zdislav, about which neither he nor I never regretted. The quality of medicine and equipment is similar, the doctor and his assistant are professionals of the highest class. I was very worried about the procedure and the stage of recovery from my father, but everything turned out to be much easier, without pain, etc. Active four-day therapy after the operation completely restored his strength and energy, so we left the clinic in a very good state of health and mood. I hope that the illness has left him thanks to all, all the staff of this clinic. A huge thank you for that !!!! And lastly: the cost of treatment in the clinic of St. Zdislav is twice as cheap as the same operation in Germany. Like this Read more less

FAQ about Stomach cancer surgery in Czech Republic

According to cancer.net, 67% is the 5-year survival rate in stomach cancer patients after surgical treatment. In combination with surgery, a doctor can assign chemotherapy or radiotherapy regarding your case.

What factors affect stomach cancer operation cost

The gastrectomy cost is affected by:

  • Surgeon’s experience. If a surgical oncologist has conducted many operations, made lots of achievements and numerous awards, a doctor can ask for a higher fee.
  • Type of the method. According to a patient’s case, a doctor may provide subtotal (partial) or total gastrectomy to remove a tumor. Specialists use minimally invasive (laparoscopic, robotic) and open methods of gastrectomy.
  • Country's price policy. The price of stomach cancer surgery depends on a country’s population income. For instance, surgery in Turkey is cheaper than in Germany, but the quality remains at the same high level.
  • Hospital charges. Most German clinics require a prepayment for treatment. And finally, if treatment occurs cheaper, a clinic can give the rest of the money back to a patient.

*If a patient needs therapies, the cost of stomach cancer treatment can be higher. For example, advanced disease is always hard to cure and requires more expensive treatment methods.

What does gastrectomy cost include?

  • Anesthesia
  • stomach cancer surgery itself
  • drugs
  • hospital stay
  • surgeon’s fee.

In some clinics, stomach cancer surgery cost includes such additional services as transfer from/to the airport, interpreter assistance, etc. Get more details about additional fees from Bookimed manager.

What countries do patients choose for gastrectomy?

Israel

Israeli surgical oncologists who perform gastrectomy completed their internships and trainings overseas (the USA, Canada, Europe). They are the members of international oncological organizations, for example, the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Germany

Most German hospitals apply advanced medical equipment which helps to carry out the most accurate diagnostics and surgery. German surgeons are involved in clinical trials to develop new treatments. Centers in Germany are certified by the German Cancer Society for high quality and safe healthcare.

Turkey

Turkish medical facilities offer reasonable costs for stomach cancer surgery. Such a procedure is 15% cheaper than in Germany and Israel. In spite of the low costs, healthcare in Turkey remains at the highest level. Most hospitals in Turkey are accredited by JCI (Joint Commission International), a global organization that evaluates clinics worldwide.

How to choose a hospital for stomach cancer surgery?

Before you choose a hospital to get stomach cancer operation, pay attention to the following things:

  • Hospital’s accreditation. Every world-class hospital has lots of certificates, as JCI, given for health care quality.
  • Doctors’ experience. Check a specialist’s CV. Be sure a doctor has a huge experience in your disease management, improved their skills overseas (the USA, Europe).
  • Medical equipment. The hospital should have a lot of medical equipment of the latest generations.
