Professor Benjamin Dekel is an internationally renowned doctor heading the Pediatric Stem Cell Research Institute and the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at the Sheba Medical Center. He has a Bachelor's degree in Medical Sciences and MD from the Technion, a Doctorate (Ph.D.) from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and has completed multiple residencies, fellowships and post-doctoral fellowships. He has pioneered the identification of stem/progenitor cells for tissue repair and regeneration, and has published over 110 publications in leading medical journals. He is an elected member of the Society of Pediatric Research and the American Society of Clinical Investigation and has won multiple awards.
