Professor Robert Schmidhammer is a specialist in peripheral nerve surgery, brachial plexus, reconstructive surgery after injuries and hand surgery. He has a Doctoral Specialization in Human Genetics and has trained in general practice, traumatology, anesthesiology, intensive care medicine, counter-subject surgery, sports healthcare, and hand surgery and microsurgery. He is a member of the Austrian Society of Traumatology, the Austrian Society for Hand Surgery, the German Society for Hand Surgery, and the American Society for Peripheral Nerve Damage. His research focuses on nerve regeneration and the effect of movement on the regeneration of peripheral nerves.
